Gum Spring area of Louisa is 15 minutes from Short Pump. I live about 25 minutes from SP and 30 from Charlottesville. Louisa County is part of the Richmond, Charlottesville, AND Fredericksburg metro areas, so they're covered by the news in all three areas. However, Richmond didn't cover them that much until Coach Fischer got sick.

with the sheer number of schools in the combined metro areas
there has to be something unique (even tho sad) to draw the attention of the media

Mineral, VA is closer to Charlottesville and Spotsylvania, Co. (Fredericksburg area) than Richmond. It's close, but the are closer.
The furthest "other" teams considered in the Richmond area are Patrick Henry (Ashland), Hopewell, Petersburg, Prince George and Dinwiddie. Powhatan included too.
Patrick Henry is in the Capital District. Hopewell, Petersburg and PG are in the Central District
If you google "Greater Richmond Region, you will see that Louisa County is not included in it..

Agree but if there is a good team just on the outskirts that belongs in the top 10 why not have them in it rather than pretend they don't exist.

Maybe we can include Warhill and Lafayette there closer to Richmond than Louisa.

Louisa County isn't considered part of Metro Richmond. It's a rural area.

@springer76 I know where Louisa is and I am well aware that it is not in the Richmond metro area. I don’t have a problem with them being in the poll
