If you were in Alaska you would have to pay $3000.00 just for travel to away games. So be thankful Roanoke to Virginia Beach isn't that far.

Salem is one bad outfit, but so are the Bluefield Beavers, who played Salem before Salem was Salem. Back when Salem was Andrew Lewis, they had a few games with the Beavers of Bluefield, WV. Bluefield is the equal of a Class 2 school in Virginia. Bluefield use to have Class 4 Virginia numbers year ago. Even at the equal to a Class 2 school in size in Virginia, the Beavers are a bad outfit and one of the baddest pound for pound, size for size on the East Coast, and they have been so for decades. Literally, over 1/2 of a century. I would love Salem and Bluefield to play again. Even with the size difference, when the Beavers are right, them and Salem wold be a battle. The Beavers once again played for the defacto AA state title in WV this fall and lost, but started 7 freshmen or sophomore on both sides of the ball. 2021 2022, and 2023, Bluefield is probably going to be favored to win the West VA 2A title. They have about 13 state football championships in WV, and what would seem like a little rinky dink 2A WV school isn't what you think. Bluefield sends at least one players seemingly every year to Major Div 1/FBS and they've been that way forever. 2 years ago, they sent 4 to major Div 1 to include WV, UNC, Michigan St, and Pitt all in one year.
