Scrimmages

Were you there ? No info from Essex camp , I was just trying to confirm, I guess I will check Essex out this week for myself

No I was not there as I stated I was taking a “wild” guess....

I am going to see Furman at Virginia Tech in a few weeks. I don’t think I have ever watched Furman and I enjoy a bit of college ball. I just had to look at what they are even called.

Guess what? Va Tech most likely will beat them quite soundly...I just hope it’s not too bad.

Yes, I remember ODU upsetting them....I don’t even care for Tech that much but do pull for them as a Virginia team if they are not playing ECU or UVA.

How s Northumberland?

Oh thank you for asking....

Are you expecting me to say oh well its rebuilding year, NHS lost like 16-18 seniors (many of them really good starters, several all NND and Region players, and of course, super star Delvin Palmer, one of the most explosive players from Class A I have seen in last 20 years). Its gonna be tough...

That is all true but nope no excuses.....I have complete confidence in Coach Lewis and his staff to have reloaded and will compete for titles in NND/Region A etc.

Plus, the Indians return most likely the best (or certainly one of the best) QBs in Class A Virginia.

Yeah Mason (believe that’s his name) at QB at NHS is excellent, especially compared to peers in Class 1. Coach Lewis seems to be building a real program & the school is supporting him.

From what i understand the scrimmage was from the 30 yd line in. Surry scored on its first play and that was it. Essex scored 6 times. Same 30 yd. line in vs. Brunswick. Brunswick scoed once on its 10play possesion while Essex scored once on its 10 play series. Essex then scored three timez on its next series while holding Burunswick scoreless.

Was Mason even the best Qb in his District last year? I think there's another guy in the NNK who outplayed (Passing & Rushing) him who is returning but I could be wrong.

You think there’s a chance that (gasp) BOTH schools might have high-level QBs compared to C1 peers? Sometimes two talented people live near each other.

from what I was told, the Surry TD was called back on a holding call on the play side

Excellent point.

Both the Northumberland and Rappahannock QBs are really good indeed.

Both have different (and some similar) playing styles and skill sets. Both styles are very successful for each of the young men. Both can pass and run though and both are fearless players from what I have seen.

I would say out of the 50 or so schools in Class A, these two QBs are in the top 4 in the state. This is based on what I saw last year and decades of observing Group A football.
