I personally don't do baseball until after March Madness, but it looks like things are underway already. I see that my Gladiators have opened the season with a pair of impressive road wins, over Central and Rocktown, scoring nine runs in each one. Hopefully they will keep up the good work and contend for the title this year. I would assume the usual suspects will be Wilson, Stuarts Draft and Fort Defiance.
Speaking of Wilson, I don't think this news ever made it on to here, but the Hornet community was shocked and saddened by the sudden and unexpected death of long-time head coach Rodney Cullen. He had led the Hornets for quite some time and I believe won the state title once. He passed away a few weeks ago from complications from a heart procedure from what I understand. Sympathy goes out to the Hornet fans and team and I am sure their season will be devoted to his memory.
