Draft was down 19 in that game as well. Riverheads shot the lights out against Luray apparently. Lee is really playing smothering defense and breaking games open with huge runs. Riverheads may have something to say in that D-1 race. Should be an interesting game Friday in Staunton.

Easy goat. JV scores can very misleading. I know the 8th grader is good for page but a lot of things go into a jv score. Look at the other teams and their rosters. For example, wilson has 5 ninth graders on the varsity, for a team that will win the district. What if those ninth graders were on the jv? Other jv teams in the district are loaded with 10thgraders. They might be competitive this year, but won’t make a difference on the varsity the next 2 years. All jv seasons are for is playing time and making ridiculous shirts about their records. I do believe the 8th grader at age will be a good player, but i don’t see them putting together a team to compete for a title on the varsity level in the next 2-3 years.

Not sure why you're surprised Page lost. They're simply not as talented as they have been in the past. Not that they're not trying, they just don't have the talent, nor any size. Tallest player is a sophomore at 6'2. They'll be middle of the pack this year.
I'm not surprised by Stonewall......well yes and no. The hiring of Jim Sanders was probably one of the best things to happen for them. He was an excellent coach at Luray and the parents ran him out. He'll be good for the Generals.
And you are correct GOAT.....Page JV girls are legit. They are 9-0 at this point of the season. Closest game they had was a 3 point win at Broadway. Other than that, the closest margin was 18. Average margin of victory is 32. JV coach Hilliard gets the most out of those girls every single night. And there are no 10th graders on the JV squad.

I agree it’s hard to say good Jv teams will translated it being really good varsity teams don’t know what the other schools teams consists of varsity could be loaded and older players stay down or they could be short on upperclassmen and young players could be playing up but since there are no 10th grades on team that does say something for the page team.
When/if you see them play (Page JV girls) you will understand.
When you are consistently scoring around 50 in a JV game... that's impressive.
And i'm pretty sure they could have dropped 70 plus several times if they wanted to.

To finish this conversation I will give you they may be a good jv team if you in turn give me 2-3 years and see if they turn into a championship varsity team. Ain’t no trophies in the case for jv teams.
Luray JV girls are good. I haven't seen Page JV but I'm guessing that will be a good game. I've seen Broadway, Central, Strasburg, and Stonewall's JV teams as well.
In the early 90's, Haysi JV teams were putting up over 100 against teams like Whitewood... 80 against pretty much everyone else.
I saw Spotswood JV Girls beat Broadway 54-22 last night, so that should put things in some perspective as to good local JV girls teams.
I don’t recall him ever saying they would win championships. He made a statement that they’re laying the hammer down on most everyone this season. Just be happy for them and we’ll see what they do in the future.
Oh well in that case, I saw a rec team of 7-8 year olds in Lexington beat the other team 41-6 last Saturday. They must be legit
