Phoebus by 50 plus. I like Sherando they are close to me. But this is just a mismatch at every position on the field

so watching them reminds of Brentsville District from the class 3 days. Won’t be much of a game after the 1sr quarter…probably before that
Phoebus wins big in this one. I don't expect them to give up more than 7. Salem was a good team this yr but not many of us had them going deep in the playoffs and definitely not beating Phoebus.

Looks like Sherando players have entered the IG live chat this week again…but they’re a lot more humble this week.

This year, 3 would definitely provide excellent competition (I won't predict a win or loss) - Maury, OS, and Hayfield. Perhaps Varina and LCA. Hopefully the Varina matchup will come to fruition v v soon....
LCA would give them a good game with Gideon Davidson running the ball. I’m not quite sure if LCA would beat Phoebus but it’d be a good game. LCA gives up points but they win week in and week out. I do wonder how big of a hit LCA will take next year when Gideon is gone.

I remember the chip game a couple years ago when LCA gave them a game. Not sure how that LCA team compares to this year's team (aside from GD).

I don't think LCA would be withing21 of Phoebus this year. They are pretty one dimensional on offense. Davidson is their only real playmaker. LCA will still be pretty good next year. Of course they will not be able to replace Davidson but their backup RB Cowhert is pretty talented too. He would start for most teams and he still has another year. They are young upfront. They return 4 starters on the OL. I expect them to contend for the district and region title again along with Heritage.

Soph at UNC. Heard one UNC fan describe him as "the biggest bust in UNC history" if that gives you any indication. A lot of "looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane" as well.
I remember then freshman Markus Hopson making Rice check out the game on defense and only play offense in that state game. M But i hope he jumps in portal and finds a better fit.

Markus was giving Zach Rice that work in the trenches that day. LCA were much bigger than Phoebus that year, but the Phantoms had superior speed and athleticism.

I'm picking Phoebus, but it may not be the blowout that some are expecting. It looked bad for Sherando at the start of the Salem game but they took the first punch and controlled most of the rest of the game. They have to be good to beat Salem. Everyone who gets this far is good.

Let's do some higher math.
1. Salem 3 tds better last year to this year.
2. Phoebus 7 points better than Salem last year even though Salem played them even until last play.
3. Phoebus about same as last year.
4. Playing at Phoebus +7
FINAL. 35-0 or. 42-7

Salem ain’t nowhere near Phoebus level this year just being honest. I don’t see a way where it’s not a blowout…unless Phoebus plays bad

Salem isn't even at the level they were last yr. And we lost to Phoebus. This game Saturday will be over in the first quarter. I can't believe 7 people actually think Sherando will win 🤦🏻‍♂️

Ehhh no disrespect to Sherando but Hampton is a long way from Stephens City, literally and figuratively. I don't know what you know about Phoebus but they have the longest active winning streak in Virginia for a reason. They haven't lost a game since 2021 and are a combined 60-2 the last 5 years. I would be surprised if Sherando keeps it within 35. That would be an accomplishment in itself. And that's no disrespect to Sherando.

Raise your hand if you were at Darling Stadium immediately following the 1999 Hampton/Culpeper game. I will never forget the silence on the Crabber side of the field. I don't think there have ever been that many Peninsula District and East Region fans that quiet inside Darling Stadium in all the years it has been there. No one had left. The stadium was packed on both sides. Hampton fans and their team were wrecked and they just stood there watching Culpeper lose their minds. It was a great lesson.

That Culpeper team was also undefeated and won the state Championship. Matter of fact they beat Sherando 74-20 that yr

I don’t even compare scores but the 1 seed in Region D lost to the 1 seed in Region B 55-21 and this is going to be worst. Thank God they are cross bracketing this thing.

Did Phoebus have a tough schedule this year? I was trying to look on Maxpreps it didn't appear that any of the schools that they played were juggernauts this year. I'm not saying this makes any difference in the outcome of this Saturdays game, I'm just asking

You make a great point. 1 year - 1997 The Peninsula District sent 2 teams to the finals for D5 & D6. Hampton won, Kecoughtan lost. Normally their best team goes undefeated in district and then wins the title. The rest are beaters. The realignment has seen more PD teams go to the playoffs than past years. Heritage did well last year.

The exception to all of this are the Denbigh Steelers, who are threatening to win the AFC and go to the Super Bowl. The Kecoughtan Patriots are being ran through since Tom Brady and Bill retired.

Warwick is talented enough to beat any of the remaining 4 teams in 4A. Highland Springs and Hampton both respectable programs on down years. Rest of schedule was mid to bad teams but the same teams we’ve played every year. We scheduled Springs as our only out of district game not realizing they would be down this year.

I was at the game. Watched the QB-WR combo of Mike Jenkins and Terrence Dinkins made Biscuit and company look average.
