Of the teams in your poll, I concentrated on the West. I voted for Loudoun Valley over C'ville, but it's still probably too early to say, as both of those schools won't face their best opponents until the end of the season.

I think a lot of freaky things are going to have to happen for either Sherando or JF to even make the playoffs. As of today, there is a total of ten teams in 4A West that have zero or one loss. That's almost the entire playoff field right there. And JF and Sherando both already have three losses. Both are going to have to pull some upsets - or what currently look like upsets - and get tons of help from other schools to have any chance of qualifying. So, they both have a way to go to even reach "sleeper" status, IMO.

Of the eastern choices you offered, I'd go with the Foxes.

I agree, I think King George is the best of the bunch. I think Cville can get out of the District with only 3 losses, but since the west is so stacked, a 7-3 record might not get them a home game.

Sherando if they get in. Every loss they've had have come from undefeated teams who are dominant this year in their state/regions, and those games were decided by 1, 7, and 7. Whether or not they can get in is the big question. I think 6-4 can get them in if every other team they've lost to remains undefeated.

Assuming there are no major upsets at the hands of James Wood, Handley, or Skyline, I think they can split the games at Fort Hill and at Millbrook. Fort Hill has a very good team this year, but I don't think they're better than Martinsburg who only topped Sherando by 7 (and yes, I'm fully aware that it could have been a much wider margin had the Bulldogs not turned the ball over so many times).

Millbrook is a rivalry game, but they got blown out in their only test of the year against a very good Woodgrove team.

I'd say there is a much higher chance of Sherando winning both of those games than the chance of them losing both of them.

King George is the best team on the list. However, when the regular season is over, they'll most likely be 9-1 and won't be a sleeper.
