In a game that had a playoff atmosphere, the Class 4 Patriots edge out KW. PH came into the game ranked 7th in Class 4. The game wasn't without a bit of controversy though. In the 3rd inning with KW leading, 1-0, PH grounded to 3rd and on the subsequent throw to 1st, the batter was called out by the 1B umpire. That would have been the 3rd out. However, after a brief discussion between the umpires, the batter was ruled safe. PH would go onto score 2 unearned runs in that inning. I don't believe they even got a hit after the 3rd. Jillian Smith struck out 9 for KW and only allowed the 2 unearned runs. Addie Kirby had 2 hits for KW, who actually had more hits than PH, while Hollyn Krukowski had the 1 RBI. The Lady Cavs end the regular season with a 16-2 record and will now await to see where they're seeded in the upcoming regional tournament
