Why does VHSL have such a strict reentry policy ? It appears if one leaves stadium they cannot re-enter even if they have a pass or buy another ticket.

I totally get the re-entry policy, but is contraband food and alcohol a real issue at games like this? And, who is standing at the gate and can't pick up on this? There should be a police officer or security official monitoring a single re-entry point to take care of issues. Otherwise, arrange with the gate manager why you are going out, and return within the time frame that was established... If you can't meet this simplest expectations for re-entry, you don't get it. Problem solved.

I would assume they think people would leave the first game and give their ticket stub to someone going to the second game, thus saying they are re-entering instead of purchasing a tickets

Ok, absolutely plausible and a serious pain the rump... Then print tickets for 2 games each with the schools names represented. Punch a hole when you return or mark the front in some way.

they will pretty much strip search u at the gate, no food, no drinks, no noise makers, and if u leave after the first game and want to come back for the second game u have to buy another ticket. both game should be good. GO BIG RED

This game isn't at a high school. You are allowed to drink in the parking lot. We tailgated most the day last year before the game. Had friends bring the motor home down and had a good ol time

If someone has to drink at a high school game they have a problem. They should check into a rehab facility.

That's a bit harsh. Yeah, it's probably not the best place to do it, but how it's done is a fine line there. As long as NOBODY gets stupid and causes problems, no harm. I wouldn't do it, and I LOVE a cold beer or a good single malt scotch, but I wouldn't begrudge someone if they were acting responsibly.

Well I guess me, and the large group of people tailgating should have been checked in for the few drinks we had! Between the Altavista group that was next to us and our people rehab would have had about 80 or so I guess.

You know what we should probably go to fat camp for all that food we had at the tailgate too!

I was at a regular season game at a certain school, and had to go to my vehicle and get some headphones that I had left . Some woman at the gate got all bent out of shape.

Just because law enforcement looks the other way at most tailgates doesn't mean you're allowed to drink in the parking lot.

No open container law in Va, it is technically legal. Doesn't mean i would do it but to each his own.

Code §4.1-308 Deals with drinking alcohol in public. There are exceptions for events but they must be inside the event.
