Other quarterfinals:

Appomattox 7 Lee 3
Wise Central 11 Chatham 1
Central Woodstock 9 Central Lunenburg 2

Friday’s semifinals:

Wise Central vs Central Woodstock
King William vs Appomattox

You may want to write a letter to the Bristol Herald Courier, because they are calling it Wise Central in their articles 🤣🤣
I mentioned it to Hayes YEARS ago.
Their readers are used to "Central" being Sullivan Central (TN), which opened in '68.
So they went with Wise Central to help avoid confusion.

Tom"a"to, Tom"o"to, it's all the same. Similar circumstances if you take many High School fans in swva, many refer to the school in Victoria, VA, as Lunenberg Central. If we are being technical, it's Central High School and even Central "of Lunenberg" is a stretch. But, no biggie. Central being the School of former legendary coach Chippie Chappell.

Yeah I've heard Lunenburg called by a bunch of different names before. But yes, when I think of them, I think of Chippie Chappell and those legendary football teams

I remember Chippie Chappell's Chargers.
Went there for for '86 title game against Garden, whose school had recently moved from Oakwood to Keen Mountain... there IS no Garden.
Weirdest part - we spent Friday night somewhere near South Hill, and ppl. were wearing large buttons with a green dragon on them. Turns out, it was to support their girls hoops team.

Central had a big Ole boy QB in the late 80s named Ricky "Schnepf" that could absolutely sling it for that time period. The Garden win over PV in the playoffs was one I remember and many in swva will never forget. Stunning win with great defense against the Vikings.
