Stone Bridge Varsity's bats woke up today and they did so against the reigning 2012 VA State Champion Lake Braddock Bruins by winning 6-1. The team totaled 10 hits and were led by sophomore Tanner Karafa (3 hits), senior Billy Kirkendale (2 hits), and senior Kyle Cassidy with a two out, two RBI single in the top six inning. Also adding to the offensive production were junior Matthew Wheaton, seniors Matt Hough and Ty Percherke and freshman Dave Mocabee -- all with hits.
The combination of JB Bukauskas and Devon Perez were able to keep the Bruins quiet all day. Sophomore Bukauskas pitched well throughout going 5 2/3 innings giving up only 3 hits, 1 run, and 6Ks. Junior Perez came in and closed the door strongly for the save.
