I despise having coaches yell this while their substitutes are "trotting" up to the table. I even had one assistant coach yell this last night even when the ball was clearly "in play". Is it time for a coach's clinic on the rule book?

You could ignore the sub, and not hit horn when there is a dead ball.Do this a couple times and coach might get the message.

I've tried that with the result that I usually get reprimanded by the officials - who I think are the ones who should take the "bulls by the horns" and quote the rules to the coaches. This IS the result of refs and the table being "bullied" by AAU coaches.

With a sub at the table you would not sound the horn on a dead ball just because you want to get your message across to the coach? Try that a couple of times and YOU may be looking for another job.

There is a cure for the bully coaches. Big T will usually take care of it. Second one gets them gone.

Good point. I like the big T to make them have to stay seated.
