Can we blame him for the obvious improvement of Braves football? If so, I'll start the fingerpointing 👉🏽👈🏼👆👇🫵🏽
They won 6 games in the 3 seasons before he took over at River. They went 8-4 his first year at River in 2014 and 12-1 his last year at 2018.
Wood’s teams at Chambers were loaded but its often overlooked that former Halifax County star Aaron Brand built that Chambers program up, left for a 6 figure coaching job in SC and Wood had to just not crash the yacht. The school he left this year (Matthews Butler outside of Charlotte) was supposed to be a contender and they underachieved severely. He can definitely coach but he feeds too much into that social media culture and that only works at a very small amount of places in America and Chambers was one of them. I don’t see him at Tallwood long at all as he’ll be a hot commodity in the 75.
Butler was not a good fit to say the least.
Sidenote: Brand has done a remarkable job at Irmo. Think they were a .500 program before he took over. Led them to their first perfect regular season in over 20 years. Well over 100 former student athletes gone on to play in college including his son who's at VT. Really good coach. Of course he learned from one of the best.
