That Freedom game was the type of game either team could've won. Freedom came from behind but won on a FG. Plus scrimmages are completely different from games. I agree Freedom is awesome, but the win over Forge doesn't mean much when it comes to specific matchups between Forge and HSHS. Also factor in the Forge kids will be completely amped up for that game. It should be a hell of a game.

HSHS always seems to get a team “amped up”. That game will be at CFORGE too. That doesn’t seem to matter to HSHS anymore. Home or away(the next 2yrs will be all games away),it really doesn’t change the speed they bring to the field.

You are correct...the scrimmage means nothing,but they did get to see a very good QB behind a huge OLine. It doesn’t mean anything when it comes to CF’s matchup with HSHS. I was just indicating that HSHS had seen a very good,D1(offered) QB. The Springers put this schedule together to be tested and pushed. They play Varina the NEXT WEEK.after CF. Henrico and Manchester are up next though.

Btw...I was wrong. Atlee has the best QB HSHS will face all year! He’s committed to Penn St!

Even over Forge? Forge is loaded with seniors and will have the best QB you might see all year.

There seems to be 2 versions of Colonial Forge this year. How they played vs Freedom vs how they played vs Grassfield.

They better play better than they did vs the Grizzlies. I went to that game. Forge seemed to be playing pretty soft compared to what I've seen from them in the past. It was much closer than the score showed. Surratt returned an interception for a TD on the last play of the game.

I'll be surprised if HSHS vs CF will be within 2 TD's. But I'm tempted to go see that game anyway.

@757FridayNiteZ well Freedom looks like a college team, so I'd have to say Forge stepped it up for that game, albeit the loss.

Don't forget that Norview game 2016. HS only won by 3 and Norview had the ball going for a game winning drive but our defense rose ro the occasion. Also Herm 2015, herm came back from 35 down and HS won on a hook and ladder play Epic game

I went to the Manchester/CForge game last year and didn't see the overall speed or explosiveness that CF will need to keep them in the game vs the Springers.

Definitely 2 different teams. CF normally would have blown Grassfield out by 4 TD's as they did in previous years. Seems like CF & Freedom will get to replay that game in November!
