Watched a game last night and coach was given a technical. The official sent the player to the wrong free throw line for the shots. What happens if they make the free throw in the wrong basket. And when the official corrects the basket they are shooting in should they get both free throws or only the one that's left?

Wow. I'm looking forward to hearing about this one.

I assume this was a high school game?

This error falls under correctable errors. If discovered before the first dead ball becomes live you wipe the free throws off. If not discovered before the first dead ball becomes live, then you leave any made free throws as is.
In the case book. 2.10.4 page 14.

I had this happen in a game I was calling back in 1979 in high school game in Missouri . No one in gym realized my boo-boo.

This is a correctable error as bowlingref has stated (provided it is discovered in time). However, this is certainly a major blunder by the officiating crew (HR6, I would not admit to making this mistake) and I would like to know if this was a varsity contest and some other particulars. Was the T assessed the coach at halftime, or sometime in that vicinity to confuse the teams direction? Certainly, if during the first half or second, after direction and goals have clearly been established, I don't see how this error is made..at least by a varsity level crew anyway.

It was a high school varsity game and I believe was midway thru the 2nd quarter. Once the technical was given to the coach the official took the player to the wrong line. Plenty of help in the gym letting him know something was up, Scorers table blowing the horn, you name it. He let her shoot the first which she missed (no harm done) and corrected on the second shot. I guess I was curious if she should have gotten that first shot back and at the correct end of the floor.
