After two straight years of making it to the playoffs, this Loudoun County school took a small step backwards this past season. I didn't look at the numbers, but I think the overtime loss to Champe was what stopped their season after 10 games.

There are no indications that the Dominion student population will grow to the point that they move up to 5a. So, they will be battling it out with the west teams for at least several more years.

With 30 graduating seniors on their roster from last season, replacing that experience will be an obstacle for them to overcome. But, I'm reminded that Salem was supposed to be in a mini rebuilding mode last season. And we see how that worked out.

What can you tell us Hammy?
OneMan, you always have your pulse on the northern teams.
How about it ClarkeFan? I know you follow 2a the most, but what can you tell us about the Titans?

Clarke is 2a:D. I know nothing about Dominion/Loudoun County schools. I'm too much of a homebody! Gotta get out some more this fall!

What is there really to tell. Despite tons of players going onto play college football (DeAndre Reeves-Marshall, Chad Smith-Clemson, Adeeb Atiwara-Toledo to name a few) Dominion has struggled to score more than 7 wins in a season. The linemen are usually very big and they have athletes. Just one of those programs you continue to think will make a move at some point but for some reason the Titans stay mediocre.

Having played them last year and from watching the Varsity & JV film a few times in the past couple weeks, this is what I've got.
The QB they have coming up, Thomas Jarman, looks pretty solid. He was easily the best passer I saw at the JV level this past season. He's got some mobility. Appeared to be right around his listed 5'11 HT. Should be all of 6'0-6'1 by the time the season rolls around.
He's got a pair of RBs, Vashon McCants and Billie Walker that can tote the rock.
UVA commit Tommy Christ was the best DL we faced all year last year, hate to think how much better he'll be this fall.
Jayson Robinson returns at FS, he was a pretty solid player.
Another JV kid that moved up to varsity mid season is WR George Richardson. He's got scholarship level potential as he was 6'2 180 last year as a sophomore.
Chad Smiths younger brother Kyle Smith is also returning starter at LB.
These guys listed will likely be the core of the team. Someone mentioned with all the talent they've sent to college, they just can't get over the hump. Time will tell if it'll be this year. I know they switched offenses 3 or 4 games into the season after struggling to score in the first few games. Will be interesting to see what scheme they line up in this year.
We look forward to welcoming them to 'Ville for the season opener.

Typo, sorry. Fixed.

I did! I can't get the top lose either! ;)o_O:D

Their last season bares out what bcegale is saying. They had a close 6 point win over Charlottesville to open the season, followed that up the next Friday night with a 1 point loss to a very strong Potomac Mills team. Later in the season they lost in OT to Champe. They are right on the edge of being one of the top teams, but just can't seem to take that next step.

But One Man is painting a picture of a team that no one better look past. I don't think we could say they are loaded, but the cupboard isn't bare either. Their opening game against the Black Knights will say a lot about both teams.
