We all like our football, and our hometown teams. We like the thoughts of fall and the Friday
Night lights and all the hopes and aspirations of the young who give their best for their school
And community.

We all have dreams of achieving that ultimate crown, that goes for the big boys and the small
Guys too. Year in and year out, we can just about predict which schools have the best shot at
A Championship season. The larger schools have an advantage over the smaller schools in
Most cases. Smaller schools struggle with limited numbers of players, facilities that are sub-par,
And budgets that are very lean.

A lot of the smaller schools have volunteer coaching staffs, and play on grass fields. They don't
Have the millionaire Coach and play on turf. I guess what I am getting at is just what do we
Want from our teams, our Coaches and our sports programs. Have we gotten away from
The values that make us just love the sport, and not put so much emphasis on winning
At all costs.

We need to enjoy the moment, My Friends. Our days are numbered by our Father above.
I don't envy the big Winners, but I love the small guys, the underdogs, and the also rans.
It is a sport, not a religion. It is a game.

Success should be measured by the joy our young men received from participating in the
Sport, and not by how many trophies one can collect.

I'm assuming some of this post was toward a certain school but I could be wrong because I'm wrong several times a day on a daily basis. Just because someone played in the NFL doesn't mean they are a millionaire but if they're it's because they made wise decisions with their money. It doesn't make them a better coach or any less of a person. Guess what I'm saying is what difference would make if he were to be a millionaire? As for the beautiful turf field that was recently put down, something truly needed to he done about the terrible surface they had been playing on. I know you probably had not made it over there in the last few years to see just how bad it had gotten due to your health issues which by the way I'm sorry for but I hope your health is improving. It had turned into a dust bowl with little grass left by the end of season. The dirt in the middle was hard packed and would be like being tackled on concrete. So yes something needed to be done. Did it have to be a new turf field? Probably not but I'm sure glad they got it. The players, coaches, the school and the town now have something to be very proud of. And most people wouldn't consider a school of 400 students a large school but I do understand their is a lot smaller schools out there and I hope they all do well. With that being said I hope you're doing well and your health is improving and I wish your team and all the other schools the best of luck this year.
