One of the best slate of games this season will happen this Friday.

The two biggest schools will face-off as JF (2-4) travels to Amherst (5-1). The Cavs have lost some heartbreakers, but can play the role of spoiler in this one. The Lancers are still the team to beat despite losing last week. They have talent all over the place, and will have their sights set on showing how they play even better at home.

Brookville (5-2) heads to Glass (5-1). The Bees are fresh off a thrilling win OT at home. They overcame a 2 game losing streak, and pulled off a huge upset in the pouring rain last week. The Hilltoppers have far exceeded expectations to this point and would like to continue their winning ways. The weather will finally be better this week, and these two teams really thrive in the passing game. The 2 qb's can light up the City Stadium scoreboard in the blink of an eye.

Heritage (4-2) will take the trip to Rustburg (6-1). The Pioneers continue to grow with their new qb. Showing a potent ground game featuring a big line, and lots of talented skill players. The Red Devils have had a magical season, and they seem to be moving along "one dang inch" at a time. This game will be the type that lineman dream about- two ground and pound power running teams

All of these games will be exciting.

Brookville and Glass should be exciting and fun. I think Brookville still wins this game by 3 touchdowns.

JF and Amherst is very interesting. It's really about who responds from heartbreaking losses. I just think that loss last week was a fluke by Amherst. Amherst should win this game easily.

Heritage and Rustburg should be the best out of the 3 games. this game scares me the most as a Rustburg fan. It to me is a must win game. Not so much for getting in playoffs but seeding wise. Plus I think a loss here could start a domino affect. A win here heading into a bye week before Amherst game which could decide who wins the Seminole. (Who in the world thought Amherst Rustburg would decide Seminole?) is just a huge confidence builder. Not that the Rustburg players need any because I think they are the only that thought they would be right where they are now.

I tip my hat to oneredevil4. He said they would have a good season and he has been right. Homecoming week for Rustburg and I think they play Heritage for a trophy. It should be a packed house for this one and it's sure to be a great game

I would be shocked if Amherst lost back to back. They will be ready after the loss to Brookville and playing at home

Amherst has a nice stadium and a great fan base. I have no doubt they will be loud and proud again this week. I have a feeling the Lancers will come out with a chip on their shoulders and be very focused

I think this year.... 5 of the top teams in the Seminole can beat each other... Liberty and Glass not so much.... But JF, Brookville, Heritage, Rustburg, Amherst all can beat each other on any given night. No fluke that Brookville beat Amherst... They have plenty of talent. They play a different game at Rustburg if it is dry the week prior... Count the Bees out if you want to, but no team wants to have to play them come playoff time...

There is very little seperation between teams from top to botttom in the Seminole this year...

Here's how I got it ending.... ENDING!!!! not right now for the folks that wanna scratch their heads wondering why I put them up this way... This considers final record....

So you are saying Rustburg is going to lose out since you have them in 3rd place

That's what I gather from that final standings post... No way Rustburg loses out. I'll take Rustburg at home over Heritage any day & probably 3/4 times at city stadium. I think JF wins against Amherst and Brookville cruises in the 2nd half by 2 scores.

The only way I see Heritage being able to win is to load the box, contain the edge and force Dante Jones to make hard throws from the pocket. If he gets easy throws or time to scramble they won't win. Heritages passing game will be almost no factor this week as Rustburg has a great secondary.

Rustburg 24 Heritage 12
JF 28 Amherst 20
Brookville 31 Glass 17

Y'all better stop sleeping on EC Glass. Thomas Patterson is two-way monster, might be the best player in the district.

Weather permitting I believe the team with the best line play should win. Each team is well past the half way point and barring injuries there is enough tape on each team to figure out the weaknesses. Amherst in this one. I think Amherst wins knowing the playoff seeding and the fact JF hung 70 on them last year. Don't see JF getting half that much and the backup QB was more than adequate for Amherst. Turf field, no issues with kicking game, Amh by 15+. Rustburg vs Heritage should be the closest with a 6-7 point difference. Rustburg playing with great confidence and Heritage playing with house money and getting more comfortable with Moss the running QB. Expect Rustburg to pull away late. Finally can Woody drum up the emotion and energy to get his team to make this a "revenge" game versus his former team. Glass can't wait to get taste out of their mouth from Amherst lost. All games now mean something with all teams looking for playoffs. Brookville still floating from OT will this be a letdown or will they toss the ball all over the yard? Brookville by 10-12.

Just saw a post from vhsl ref. that had Rustburg ranked #2 and Heritage ranked #8 in defense in all of 3A. However Brookville was also in the top 10... Anyone agree with that?

I see that the 3A representatives from the Seminole are very good and can win most of their games against any 3A team on neutral site. I believe all can be top 5 before it is done however I would say Rustburg is more complete (line play, defense and versatility at QB.) Brookville showed resilience and Tanner surprised me with his escapability in pocket and keeping plays alive. He also ran for 67 yd TD. Heritage could still surprise but if they are 8 in the box on the Heritage O, will they be able to pass to loosen up the D and get plays outside the edges.

Could easily name 3 better two-way players... Glass' D is suspect. Granted they have speed on the field and always have but that doesn't equate to defending the pass. Brookville can mix it up and all receivers touch the ball. I'd probably bet my pay check on the Bees.

The Rustburg vs Heritage game lived up to the hype as the game of the week. Absolutely a thrilling game. Heritage moved the ball very well and played a heck of a game. Rustburg passed much better than the last time I saw them. The magical ride continues as they squeak out in OT. Both teams played their hearts out

Simply the Game of the year!!! One of the best crowds in Rustburg in the last few years, simply amazing. Both teams left it all on the field.

One of the best games I've ever attended at Rustburg minus playing in one... Defense reminds me the 2000 state team.
