Perhaps it's old news and I've missed something, but I'm wondering about any thoughts on the VHSL rules changes regarding pitchers. Haven't done much thinking on the matter (I tended to throw as much from center field as my pitchers through to the plate, haha), but I think I'm okay with anything but a Little League-style pitch count rule. That can change the complexion of a game unnecessarily and make coaching jobs even tougher. At least with innings regulations, you know what you're getting into before the game starts.

HV's Coach Taylor hit it on the head!

Hidden Valley coach Jason Taylor had a suggestion to address that point.

"I really wish … instead of innings pitched, they would look at … pitch count," he said. "We have a pitch count on all our pitchers. I've done pitch counts the whole time I've been up here. We're watching out for the kids."[/I]

The VHSL missed it ... if they are really concerned about a student-athletes arm, then it needs to be "pitches" vs. "innings".

A lot of pitches could be thrown in a 7 inning game and especially in a 7 day period of 14 innings.
