At the Salem home games I find my way down to the field just before it's over to give a fist bump to the players and coaches. Just before I do that the officials come off the field and I always nod to them and thank them for calling the game. I figure that's the minimum I could do considering how much grief they must have to put up with during the game. Here is a little tip for gate workers and fans that happen to be along the exit path that the officials take. “Good game guys.” “Thank you for being here.” “We appreciate what you do.” And absolutly no questions or comments about any of the calls that were made. Make the feel as appreciated as they truly are.
Good for you Mike. I occasionally get to speak to a few of them pre-game, and I always thank them.At the Salem home games I find my way down to the field just before it's over to give a fist bump to the players and coaches. trueAgree! But in this day and time, there are far too many more people who think they could do a better job and would never DREAM of complimenting an official. As for this scheduling issue, it is a bonus for fans because you can take in an extra game or two each week as opposed to choosing which Friday game to attend.
