No surprise. Union needed this game to try and get some kids healthy and ready for the playoffs. At least six different Bears had TDs tonight. Tough loss to end a tough season for Battle. I know injury bug hit them hard early and they're likely the 8-seed playoff team at 100%.
Bears are not playing near their peak, but maybe this is the game that allows them to right the ship and try to make a run.
But I'm afraid the G-Men are absolutely rolling and that beast won't be tamed in Region D, maybe not by anyone. They're my pick to repeat as champs. Only negative is that they will have to be road warriors starting in round two if Union beats Gate City. They would likely have to travel and win at Union, at Ridgeview and at Appomattox to advance to State title game. They're certainly capable but that's a tough road to hoe.
