Northumberland at Rappahannock this Wednesday!

NHS, recent newcomer to the elite teams, takes on established power Rapp Raiders in Warsaw on May 9th.

Last match was a 1-0 battle won by Rapp at NHS.

Northumberland is undefeated on the road but will have its hands full at Rapp (Raiders are one of the top 2 teams in 1A Virginia).

NHS' sophomore keeper Joe Schindler and his D have recorded 7 shutouts and have only allowed three regular play goals all season heading into the last week of the regular season.

Should be a good one!

Rappahannock won 6-1.

Score was 2-1 until the last two minutes of the 1st half. Rapp scored and NHS never recovered.

Outstanding referee crew - 3 man ref system used.

NHS with their normal 6 fouls called. No cards for either team. Clean game with great sportsmanship by both sides.

I have seen almost all the strong teams from the East. State final will be Rapp v Galax unless a major upset happens.

Auburn is the only team that can touch Galax in my humble opinion, and that will be a tall order. Honaker and George Wythe are still struggling to find an identity and effective style of play. The only team in the West I mean.
