Varina at Dinwiddie

Wow I didn’t get this score from this thread all week. Did something change that this is happening. Somebody hurt from dinwiddie?
I hope Harry has time to tune in to the USC vs ND to see there are less people in the coliseum than at the Dinwiddie game today…and changes his commitment to stay in state.
Like I said in my previous post you can't play a week schedule doing the season and then expect to come into the playoffs and play a team like Varina, Varina put there second string defense in the game with 6 minutes left . Like I said defense wins championships.
Boy o boy. I tried to tell you what the film said this game would be.
2 50/50 plays decided the game 3rd & 27, 3rd & 18 neither should’ve happened & that’s not the best DLine in the state
It’s more Dinwiddie fans on this board and they’re hella respected (as they should). Most people from around the state are going to pick them to win. Varina and Phoebus are top 5 teams in Virginia regardless of classification when looking at talent.
Dinwiddie had 5-6 really nice plays all game and 3 resulted in scores. Late score to make it look like it was close. Varina weathered the storm in the 3rd but it was clear that Varina was the better team. It was domination mixed in with Dinwiddie showing heart.

I wouldn't say Dinwiddie played a weak schedule. Sure the Central District was down compared to seasons past but Matoaca was no slouch, Maury... well we all know they are as tough as them plus. Was there schedule as tough as Varina? Maybe not but to say it was weak, I can't agree with that completely.
I didn't take away from the game "Dinwiddie ain't have nothing" for Varina. That was the almighty Huguenot last week.
Varina was the more talented team and Dinwiddie had less margin for error and they made those errors. 3rd and 20 can't give that up.

Dinwiddie's Oline handled Varina’s dline better than anybody this year. But Varina’s strength played into Dinwiddie's weakness. Throw it up. With said Dinwiddie had a 4th and 1 in the 4th quarter that if they convert, the game probably goes to the wire. No moral victories just explaining what actually happened in the game.

Yes Varina is well coached and has good athletes on both sides of the ball. If something crazy doesn’t happen — i think the class 4 final will be the best of the 6 state finals. Varina and Phoebus will come down to what coach has the best game plan because both teams match up so good in my opinion.
Tusky has a great receiver in Boston College commit Dawson Pough. Do I think Tusky has the athletes to hang with Varina? Yes. Will it be enough? I don’t think so.

🤣🤣 man I love it! I agree with you 100%.. Tusky and Stone Bridge have matched up well with Bird and Highland Springs in the past. We’ve (804) had great success with them but they give us a hell of a game. Tusky will put the ball in Pough and RB Zain Elain (kid looks like a Varina or Highland Springs style player; only a sophomore) hands. We both know that we have the dawgs to get it done but we’re going to have to keep the foot on the gas.

I like and respect the Widdie so no trash talk over here but I see Varina/Dinwiddie has become a nice little rivalry online. No love lost. Varina played them for the regional championship in basketball and football in the past 9 months. It’s good to see people get into the games again. It’s good for the area.

If I'm not mistaken Tusky defense has only allowed 5 rushing touchdowns in 10 games and five of there opponents ended up with goose eggs. I just don't think they can stop Varina running game east and west. Should be a good game!!!.
What specifically worries me is they have a guy who can potentially take out D Carter. While it's some other guys that can make some plays that worries me because I think the run game will be shut down. So I really think this comes down to how well they draw up some plays for Wyche to use his legs and Wyche will have to make a lot of plays scrambling.
I may have missed it, but have the gentlemen from Dinwiddie posted anything since the game ended? I'm sure they're disappointed, but I am kind of surprised that I haven't seen anything from them...not trying to poke fun, just curious.

Wyche had to make a lot of plays and use his leg against the speed of dinwiddie with success I see no problem doing the same in this game. I watch four of there games on the high school football network they look big and slow to me. No one has been able to stop d Carter, I don't see any reason why that should happen in this game. This team reminds me of broad run that Varina played in Lynchburg in the state championship. There's a reason why Varina is ranked number three in the state of Virginia behind Maury and Oscar Smith. Tusky is
ranked number 17 in the state of Virginia.
Varina will come to play, !!!!
100% think Varina will be ready to show up. History and specifically Varina's history at the state level let's me know to not overlook the NOVA teams.

One proud Dinwiddie fan here and I have not posted, because I spent Sunday and Monday with a very special individual who is much more important than a high school football game. Surely wasn't hiding. As I told @BoKnowsSports and @mbonape1 after the game we got beat by a much better team and even reiterated that on X.
@LHS Rams you have only posted three times all season and you want people to believe you are sincere. You have been butt hurt since you lost to Dinwiddie in 2016. Go out and get the best players from Williamsburg like you always do and get ready to get waxed by Phoebus! You guys go up and down in classifications like a yoyo. By the way @General172011 has replied multiple times.
With that being said Varina, beat us soundly and @Phoebus Fan hit the score right on the head. Two fourth and one offensive situations cost us 14 points and you just cannot make those type of blunders against a team like Varina. Fantastic talent on the Blue Devil sidelines.
When Dinwiddie got within 7 (28-21) the Varina staff in the press got real quiet. It's a shame we didn't/couldn't finish. Dinwiddie's little lineman handled Varina's d line well. They had a couple of tfl's and hurries, but the stats prove we ran the ball fairly well. The Varina db's played very well and unfortunately they shut our screen game down by playing press coverage.
Yes, we were down two starters since Matoaca and had to play some guys out of position. No excuses though. Adams may have made a difference at free safety and Boisseau may helped some at WR; however, as I stated in a previous post we needed to contain Carter and Wyche and we simply had no answer for either.
@acoles Varina and Dinwiddie's strength of schedule is almost identical and 9-10 regular season opponents made the playoffs. 9-1, 8-2, 10-0 OOD opponents GW, North Stafford, and Maury. Who else are we supposed to schedule? We don't play in a district that lets us go and play whoever we want like the Capital does Varina. Next year we are playing a team from your district 8-2, a team from Norfolk 9-1, and Salem 8-2. Two of these teams have won multiple State Championships. Weak schedule? Damn!
I'm closing let me wish Varina well. I am a 804 and Region B fan. Hopefully, we get to see the Phoebus and Varina matchup.

My 2 major takeaways from the Varina/Dinwiddie game- Varina detense made key stops and held Dalton in check for the most part. The same could not be said for the Dinwiddie defense. Wyche consistently made big plays through the air and on the ground. Dinwiddie fought valiantly, and when they were driving, down 28-21, I thought they had a shot. Varina just made more stops on D, and consistently found ways to not be stopped on O.
who made those rankings?? Respectfully the only team that can be ranked over Phoebus is maybe Maury.
