VHSCA All Star Game Roster

Any word on how the game played out?
The "West" won 30-18. The "East" had several costly turnovers (5 total if I remember correctly). Bubba Quillen (Hampton/VT committ) and Demetrius Strickland (Hampton) were co-offensive MVP's for the "east" and Jalen Elliott (L.C. Bird/Notre Dame committ) was defensive MVP for the "east." Kahlik Hamlin (Monocan) was offensive MVP for the "west" and Keante Jones (Hampton) was defensive MVP for the "west."

It will be interesting to see how the game results are evaluated in terms of game play, fan attendance, players and coaches committing/participating, etc.. Anybody know how they split the schools and assigned players to west and east? I thought I had a decent understanding of geography but, the logic seems to be escaping me. Thanks. Happy Holidays to all!!

The teams were selected by a draft. You had players from the same high school playing on different teams. I guess East vs West was just a bad name. LOL

I thought the game play was good. There were a bunch of good plays on both offense and defense. The attendance was low but I am not sure there was a lot of advertisement for it. Playing on Sunday was sort of strange too. The important thing is that the players really seemed to enjoy the experience and several got additional exposure that they might not of gotten.

Thanks for the info! Would probably be interesting to get more details/info on the draft(i.e., how it was conducted, who was picked first, etc.). I must have missed the advertising for the game and the Sunday before Christmas in a dead period for off campus recruiting probably didn't maximize the exposure either but, any exposure is better than no exposure.

Not sure exactly, There was a list going around Twitter that had a list of names and number to the left. Might of been draft order. The game was taped and you could order it. I am sure there were people there to check things out. LOL
