W&L v Essex???

Those “Rec Ball Offenses”from the NND went 6-2 against your TRD so cut out the foolishness. You just made yourself look silly with that comment.

Each school in the NND have their sport(s). Essex has just been better at football for the last 10-12 years than the others. When it comes to Basketball, Essex have their good and bad years but Lancaster and Northumberland seem to be the top dogs in that sport. Baseball, Softball...Essex is a hit or miss but Rappahannock always seem to be strong each year. Same with all the other sports. Some schools are just better at one sport than others. It’s as simple as that. If you noticed over the last few years, across all sports in the NND..we’ve won some State Championships (teams or individuals) or got runner- ups in many sports.
Just curious who had the 6 wins and against who?

Because I live and work in the TriRivers area I think I see where TruTiger is coming from. I think 4-5 teams have won the district over the last 8-10 years, Park View, Sussex, Brunswick, Southampton, Franklin, maybe another team...All to say the TRD crown is more of a free for all on the year to year basis.

Now for the NND Essex has dominated the district championship races, but there is a lot of good football being played and Essex doesn't win every game. Doesn't mean the TRD is a better league, just more competitive.

what Essex would do vs TRD schedule and what would WL, Northumberland, CB, Rapp do in TRD play, or Sussex, Franklin, Brunswick, PV in NND games?? Fun discussion.

This is how I took it also. No disrespect to the NND. It is simple...Essex is number 1 each year and then the other teams fight for the number 2 spot. I saw Essex this yr and they are legit. Size and speed but I wonder how they would stack up against the 2A and 3A teams in the TRD. Honestly WnL doesn't have the record to prove it but I think they would fit in just fine in the TRD and will make a deep run in this year's playoffs.

If my brief research is correct:
Essex beat Sussex, Surry and Franklin
Rapp beat Southampton
Colonial Beach beat Franklin(Franklin was up by 16 or 18)
Northumberland beat Surry.

Surry has 2 wins and Franklin has 3 wins. And outside of Sussex, Franklin, and Surry I don't believe TRD teams play the NND teams. Southampton vs Rapp was the exception this year.

Correct me if I’m wrong but aren’t Surry, Sussex and Franklin still in the TRD? Just because they go to Region B for playoff purposes, that does not mean that they are not TRD.

The only other team I would like to see Essex play out of the TRD this year would be the districts top dog Greensville.

Essex don’t shy away from any division. In the past few years in our non-district schedule, we’ve played 2A Goochland for 4 or 5 years who seem to always be a late round to state semi playoff team. A couple of 3A’s in Thomas Jefferson (Richmond) (playoff team both years) and 3A James Monroe (late round playoff), 4A King George (playoff team) and 5A Deep Run who was a playoff team one of the 2 years we played. So...as you can see, we’ve played some solid 2,3,4 and 5A programs. Won some and lost some. So to play the 2 & 3A teams of the TRD would be a treat.

Yes they are..not the point. I asked for the 6 wins but then I did the research on my own. My post was very clear so I don't want your Region B comment is about. Only the 1A schools played NND teams...

A hand clap for all of those games. No one questioned Essex. You took every other post of context. It is plain and simple...we ALL agree that Essex could play in the TRD but some of the other NND teams not so much. Also Essex would have to actually compete each year for a district title(that means nothing other than for bragging rights). So it is NOT an attack on Essex. Your posts are getting away from TruTiger's original post...
