Does holding kids back make them illegitimate?

Not necessarily but it sure helps when you have a 19 year
old facing 16 and 17 year olds. Make no mistake about it Altavista has more
than one. However in their defense that is the rule set forth by the VHSL and
they are legal to play.

It would be nice for once if teams could just play the game without speculation. PM, W&L, and Altavista all have good coaches and good players, just let them play. I hate to see when a few loud mouths who probably never even played for their high school start talking.

I know that you are not so ridiculous that you think that the kid was held back in middle school just for athletics.....if that is what you are suggesting then that is probably the most ridiculous statement that has ever come across any vapreps board. Anyone to make such a statement is looking for any excuse they can to defend why their team lost. I cant believe that I am even responding to such a statement, but it was really, really immature for someone to write that. Lets all be grown ups here.....there are 19 year olds that play high school sports at every school. Anything can happen with students in school that would affect their age.....1st the kid could have a birthday late in the year, get held back in kindergarten, fail a grade, or any combination.

Just let the young men play the game and stop taking cheap shots to get any excuse you can find.

I think the match vs. Canada earlier in the summer would have been a good one to catch as well.

Say what you want, it happens, its happens in the past and it still happens today. Kids are held back for athletics and if you don't agree that fine, I just think your naive to the fact. Back in the day maybe not so much but we live in a different world today.

I really don't care what you think about my post or if you believe what I believe, that is irrelevant. Im not defending any team for winning and/or losing. I just stated the facts and said it was within the rules. It is also fact the physically the male body is different, more mature at 19.
