Defending State champs Western Branch rallied for two runs in the bottom on the 7th inning and defeated First Colonial 2-1 with a bases loaded bases, ball four walk-off win. The victory gives the Bruins their second straight 6A South Regional championship and they earned a #1 seed in the 6A State semi-finals on Friday.

Western Branch was down to their final out and even the Western Branch concessions had closed down for business anticipated the end of the game. However First Colonial pitcher Justin Cook didn't get a close called 3rd strike on a 2-2 count which would have been the final out of the game. Alex Abbey looked at two more pitches and reached 1st base on a walk. Matthew Roth followed with a single and senior Jeff Butler lined a shot to deep left field for a double scoring Abbey from 2nd base to tie the game at one. Connor Rhem walked to load the bases and Colin Selby faced senior Austin Henry. Selby walked in the winning run to give the Bruins the Region championship.

Junior Corey Klak pitched seven complete innings while allowing five hits and one run. He retired the final seven batters he faced.

First Colonial scored their only run in the 4th inning Cook led off the inning with a walk and reached third after singles by Kelvin Craig and Riley Clifford. Catcher Trey Duncan grounded into a double play but Cook was safe at home for a 1-0 Patriot lead.

William & Mary commit Bodie Sheehan left after tossing four innings of shutout baseball and allowing only a 1st inning single to Jordan Mason. Sheehan walked five batters but he fanned four batters including the final out in his last three innings pitched. Cook struggled allowing three hits, three walks and hitting a batter in 2.2 innings.
