I know this is the Preps poll and not yours but I feel Colonial Beach should be in there somewhere in the 8-10 range. 8-2 and NND champs. A small school of about 180 but consistent in football year in and year out.

They've won I believe 7 in a row as of now including a win over Essex. Talented backfield and just a hard nosed team in general. Run their version of the single wing very well

Hey kwhs95, I agree with you that Colonial Beach has had a very good
Year, and this is not just a one year thing for the small school at the
Beach. With about 180 students, and probably 1/2 of those girls, that
Leaves about 80 to 90 boys in the school.

They probably have about 20 boys in each class, 9 thru 12. I do not know what
Their football roster looks like, but if has more than 25 to 30 kids on it, They
would be doing great.

My point is this. CB is to be commended for their very successful season
Especially considering the fact that their enrollment for the school is 180.
To be constantly competitive in football with a small roster says a lot about
The school, and their student athletes, and Coaches. To be more precise,
CB obviously has a lot of Pride, hard working student athletes, and dedicated
Coaches to be able to be competitive year in and out in football.

Should they be considered as one of the top 10 football schools in the
State? My answer is YES. As to were do they deserve to be ranked, well,
I will leave that up to the experts. Job well done CB and good luck in the
Playoffs !

If I'm not mistaken this years team has around 40 on the team and for a school that size is amazing. They are also a very well coached team as well.

Hey, a football roster of 40, from a school of 180 kids, that is probably about 1/2 of
The boys in school are participating in football. You are right, that is amazing and
They are to be commended for their success.

Plenty of schools with twice or 3 times the enrollment don't have that many kids out. I think part of their success too is their system has remained the same for years. When the current coach left for a few years his replacement kept the same single wing offense in play and of course when the current coach returned he obviously stuck with the wing like he previously did. I'm not sure exactly how long they've had the same system but I know they've ran it ever since they joined the VHSL in I believe 2007 or maybe 2008.

That darn single wing offense is a pain for opposing schools to simulate in practice,
Especially when you don't see it that often. It is extremely deceptive. Like I said before;
If you can't see it, you can't tackle it, and if you can't catch them, you can't stop them.
