Pretty strange to see. The first base ump had to leave the game after the game's first batter tripled. I believe the ump pulled a hamy following the play and perhaps tripped over the edge of the infield grass.
Never seen an ump have to leave for injury, that early in a game. The two-man crew that was left to do extra actually did fine without him. Certainly, no controversy at the House of Thrills tonight.
