My question is .. why was the charge a bad call? Can you articulate why other than it was wrong?

You have pizzzzzza convinced and he lives in Cape Cod!

Well I read several comments on here criticizing the refs - don't know if it were one-sided or what - just seems there are more than the normal amount of comments on the refereeing in this particular game.

If you are referring to the charge against the Northside's center, I will address it. He catches the ball and turns towards the basket in one motion. It just so happens the defender was rite under him as he turned. I think a player is allotted some space to come down with the ball.He bearly touched the defender and the refs blew the whistle. I wasn't pulling for either team. I thought there were bad calls against both teams.

I never really considered it. I honestly love watching kids play basketball. I feel that that refs that over ref can ruin a game. Just be consistent.
I totally agree. There are two things IMO that ruin the high school game. 1. Ref. They lack consistency, they easily get into there feelings and will target players, teams and coaches. Not only will you be targeted in that game but future games. I can comment on many examples but don't have time.
2. The lack of a shot clock really hurts the game. There is no reward you good defense. I have seen so many many games over the years where teams will have a small lead going into the fourth quarter and just pull it back and dribble the ball for minutes. So boring . They my as well not even play the last 8 minutes. It's like watching 4 corners .
