What does Nottoway do on offense?

Can anyone tell me what Nottoway does best on offense? I know they have a good defense. Not much info on the internet about them. Do they run mostly run the ball or do they pass well also. Why are they so much better this year compared with the last few years. Who are their main goto players? I'm curious how well they match up well with Glenvar.

Senior oriented team. 26 seniors I believe. Have a good rb in Thomas Parrish and good sized line. Very talented team and yes their calling card is indeed defense. They fly to the ball and will lay the wood. I expect this game to be a low scoring hard hitting affair. Maybe even a 14-8 or 16-12 type of game.

Can't speak to Nottoway. Glenvar had trouble running the ball against Giles in both games. Smith was pretty much a non-factor in either game. In the Glenvar-Radford and first Giles game, Clifford wasn't very accurate on passes over 10 yards and overthrew a lot of them (and had some drops). Giles got no pressure to speak of on him the second game and he was very accurate long and short. Very impressive. They had good defense both games and made adjustments in the 2nd game to shut down Giles run and we haven't passed enough all year to be proficient at that. If Nottoway can pressure the QB and stop the run, I think it will be hard for Glenvar to score. Glenvar's defense is solid. They have good size and speed so I look for a low scoring game also but that's without laying eyes on Nottoway.

In their 13-2 win over Clarke County, Nottoway ran a very efficient pitch sweep to both sides where the RB was quick to the corner. They also ran several well designed and executed draw plays. Nottoway only ran a few passing plays against Clarke, nothing innovative, just basic routes, pass blocking was not what their line did best. It was the pitch sweep though that was the one play that Clake's defense could not consistently stop. The key to Glenvar winning will probably be whether or not they can stop that pitch sweep and keep the Nottoway RB from turning up field.

Glenvar's defensive strength is containing/stopping anything to the outside so whoever wins that will probably win the game. I don't see the counter working that I see on hudl @ maxpreps. Other than Giles in the first game, and obviously fixed for the second, I haven't seen any team get to the outside with any consistency. Glenvar will score at least 2 touchdowns with their short/long pass and a good running game and they will take what the defense gives them. Nottoway is going to need to score at least 2 touchdowns to beat them. I just don't see a 7-0 or 7-6 game. I see it 21-7 Glenvar..

I agree Spartan2005. Clifford didn't have time to pass the first time around because three key players were injured and not playing. Those three made all the difference the 2nd time around on both sides of the ball. If Nottoway can't get to the qb the passing game will tear their defense up.

KW came in averaging over 50 points a game and had a qb with over 2000 yards and a rb with over 1500 including over 300 against Riverheads and Nottoway held them to just a tad over 100 yards of total offense. This team is very very good themselves and with wins over Goochland, Buckingham, Clarke, KW and Luneburg plus a 6 point loss to a very good Heritage Lynchburg team they're definitely battle tested. I do think these teams on paper seem to be very evenly matched. I think the hardest thing for Glenvar this week could be getting their players to come back down off of last weeks high. A huge win over Giles for the first time ever, playing a nearly perfect game etc. I've seen it happen at all levels where a team coming off a huge win comes out flat the following week. Not saying it'll happen here but it is a possibility. I do think it'll be a hard hitting game but in the end I'm gonna stick with my original pick of Nottoway. Good luck to both teams
