My opinion is to listen to fans in the stands yelling. Open yo play book coach. If a pass fails, run the ball fool. If run fails. You got to pass the ball more. Come on coach. What are the best plays to call? The ones that gain the most yards and or end up in the endzone but you can only call these AFTER THE FACT!! LOL. Just my opinion.

You are exactly right the smartest coaches in the world are the ones in the stands who's never played football.

Good stuff BC!!!! hilarious....Yep, listen to the applause of fans!!!!! They will tell you how coach...DANG IT....didnt know coaching was so easy!

Most fans like to see ball in the air.
Most fans do not like seeing "runs up the middle" (between the tackles)

Agree. Not only is it from the stands, but all over social media these days. I have seen it way to much lately.

How about the QB at UCLA, when his dad took to the Twitter to bash the HC.

Every offensive play should go for a TD, unless poorly executed, or defended well. That's pretty simple. Sounds kinda dum-dum, but oh so true.

Every one of the FANaticS that come to watch HS ball want their team to execute and be successful regardless of it is an air assault or a finely tuned running game. To make the statement that everyone wants to see the ball in the air is incorrect in my humble opinion. Having seen some of the attempts at that offense at the lower levels, it’s clear why everyone doesn’t go to the spread. Some teams do not have the personnel to run it, period.

I'm a fan and I like to see my team do well. Doesn't really matter if ball is in the air or ball is run up the middle as you say. Even special team scores are fun. I do favor a balanced attack but other teams defense will determine what a team may be successful at trying.

Like it or not, agree with it or not, HR6 is consistent on what he wants. He thinks every team in America should run spread, doesn't matter the personnel.

Those of you who are new just haven't seen that yet.

Good old HR6, he certainly doesnt flip flop

At one time I was an assistant HS coach and I had a neighbor whose was divorced had a kid that attended a rival school down the road. He was always giving me crap about how our offense was trash and it was always up the middle, etc, etc etc. We ran the triple Option for years our Head Coach always had. We would run out of the wishbone, power I and would get in a double wing look as well. The triple option to me when ran to perfection was a thing of beauty and defended it many a many times to him. Me and said neighbor attended a VA tech Georgia - tech game one night and he had been drinking a few and all the way down he told me we needed to run a modern offense we was to predictable blah, blah blah. We are at the game Georgia tech comes out in the same double look to run the option just like we did for years . And in the typical maddening fashion they was gaining 5 to 7 yards a pop all the way down the field. Said neighbor looks at me and says "NOW SEE THAT'S THE TYPE OF OFFENSE YOU NEED TO BE RUNNING". I looks at him and imagined pushing him down the steps in lane stadium. Lol you have to love it.

On another note I can unequivocally tell you what type of offense I don't like. The offense that VT ran against Wake Forest a couple years ago in that 0-3 debacle. I truly believe a part of me died that day.

When VT joined ACC, I remember going to VT-GT game in Blacksburg. I said after that game, I will never go to a Georgia Tech game again.

Evidently, ODUs offense is one that works, lol. The best offense or one that works in the one my team runs win they win! Also, the worst offense is the one my team runs when they lose!

Actually, its not about the O at all...Its about the D that can prepare for ANY O that comes in the way. Do they have the coaches, players, and ability to stop it?

Just saying....

A good coach cooks with what is in the kitchen. Trying to shoehorn any offense on kids whose skills don't match is a mistake. If you have a 5'6 QB and a stable of RBs then you run the wishbone or wing-t. IF you have a qb who can throw then maybe you go spread. If you don't have any linemen then you better throw a bunch of screens and run misdirection or option. No offense is right for every situation. Coach to your kids strengths, because you don't get to recruit them in public school

That's exactly what I was gonna post. Scheme to maximize your players ' talent, don't try and put a square peg in a round hole
