He has 2,350 career rushing yards midway through his sophomore year. His average this year is 200 ypg. Barring injury, if he could avg this year's pace for his next 24 regular season games that would put him around 7,150 yds. If he averaged just a little more than his current pace and Byrd gets a couple of playoffs games in the next 3 years, he has a great shot of breaking the VHSL career rushing record held by another Byrd RB OJ Thomason who had 7,536 yds from '96-'99.
