Great game by our Hornets. Had a pick six called back. Game was chippy at times but overall a good game. #1 and #17 were very good for Brunswick.

On to Richlands next week

This Crow Is Gonna Taste Awful

Despite my rant last week, I am starting to see that destiny might just be shining it's light on the Green Hornets. Another week of VHSL 2A Playoffs and another week where everything goes Wilson's way, not just in Fishersville.

Wilson gets the win, and from the updates I saw, earned it. Maybe the Brunswick boys I saw earlier this season didn't like the frigid tundra of Fishersville, or maybe Wilson is just better. To lose McCauley and still dominate says a lot about a team that is on the cusp on getting into uncharted waters for the school's football program.

Down south the #1 and #2 West seeds go down with Gate City going down to Richlands and Giles being shocked by Glenvar. I pegged Giles as the favorite and really did think if Wilson faced them in Salem, Giles would come out on top. Never did I project a Glenvar team that Giles hammered in the final week of the regular season to come out and stomp Giles at home. Wow.

The road ahead of Wilson keeps getting easier while they continue to cruise. Riverheads has three, Gap has one, and Wilson is now the favorite, if they were not already, to find a place for the big trophy. Can't say it is what I am pulling for, but it might just be reality.

So someone is going to eat crow, and it's looking less and less like it will be Wilson's most vocal typist Trevor.

Richlands is nobody's patsy...

They have been a tough AA contenders for years and have a dynamic dual threat QB that single-handedly willed the Tornado to a win today 300+ yds passing and 100 rushing. Will be interesting to see if McCauley can play....likely won't be at full strength.

Wilson won a very physical game today, there defense caused 4 turnovers, and 1 of there best players got hurt and number 21 I believe stepped in and took his place, so down to the final 4 wakefield u said Wilson is the favorite, right now I don't know if u want to be the favorite, so trevor u can talk smack for at least 1 more week, and xcross will give his 2 cents worth and I know he will try to get u fired up before they play richland game next week. GO BIG RED

Glenvar win today no fluke


Being from Salem it's tough for me to root for Richlands for anything but I would like them playing Glenvar at Salem Stadium. That would be more interesting Already people on here discounting Glenvar and making WM the favorite now. Glenvar's victory today was no fluke...as many of you think it was.

Richland's has won state titles. You have not. Richlands had injuries across the board early on and they have got healthy. Richland's is now healthy and Wilson WILL have its toughest test of the season. As a matter of fact...I think Richlands wins the game. Wilson will play the biggest and most physical team it has faced this far.

False you are lying

Richlands did not water the field. That is a lie. Richland's did wear cleats that they did not know were to long and it would not have mattered. They were better than Salem. The VHSL allowed Richland's to keep the 1992 title as they found Richlands did not know the cleats were to long. Also, the rest of AA ball got a reprieve in 1993 as Richlands was not allowed to participate in post season play or they would have won it again. I thought the 93 team was actually better than the 92 team.

Not sure if i would call River Michaels a dual-threat. Hes not gonna try to make you miss and he may be one of the slowest on the team. He takes what his line gives him. But, hes one of the toughest kids ive seen play. Hes been pounded all year and keeps getting up. Dont think ive ever seen anyone calmer in the pocket than Michaels.

Since you replied to TimWakefield I would assume that is who it was meant for. He is not from Wilson, but from Riverheads, so when you say Richlands has won state titles. You have not, you are actually wrong as Riverheads has won 3. Not that I like it, and definitely don't like to take up for SOME of their fans, but right is right

the folks from Wilson aren't the ones trying to stir the pot and get you Richlands folks fired up. I am not a Wilson fan at heart but I do support our community teams, and I can say that I and most of the people I have talked to around here have a lot of respect for SWVA football!
