This is the game of the year for these two local teams in NOVA. We now consider this a solid rivalry with these two teams being In Nokesville and both teams continue to be perennial playoff teams.
Odd Fact: The small town of Nokesville, VA has 3 excellent football programs with KR, Brentsville, and Patriot HS all located within <10 miles of each other. A little further out you can add in Battlefield and Gainesville High Schools. Good football in our local area! Patriot High School address is Kettle Run Road.
For this game, The winner comes down to how well the Brentsville Defense plays. If the Tigers can hold the Cougars running game to about 3 yards a carry and play tough on the passes to the flats and screens, they could disrupt the KR offense. This is a tough ask of the Tigers Defense, since everyone has had trouble holding down the KR offense. The KR offense is “sneaky” good again this year.
The Brentsville offense can and will move the ball. They are solid offense and have a great RB, but KR defense is good enough to hold them in check.
In the End, KR by 2 scores. This is where I really see if the Cougars are what everyone thinks they can be at 9-0.
