Team Takeover cruised to a 69-46 win over Spiece Indy Heat to open the 2015 Nike EBYL circuit at the Boo Williams Sportsplex. Paul VI big man and Pittsburgh commit Corey Manigault posted a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds while DeMatha junior DJ Harvey led the scoring with 19 points while adding seven rebounds and three steals. Christian Matthews added 10 points. Team Takeover added some new pieces this year but they didn't seem to miss a beat.

"I think our effort was there," Team Takeover head coach Keith Stevens said. "We played hard and we competed, but we have to be more disciplined defensively and take care of the ball better. I think once we relax, we will play a lot better."

Team Takeover led 34-18 at halftime with Blue Ridge junior Mamadi Diakite scoring six quick points on a soft hook shot, a 12-foot jump shot and a followup dunk. Diakite played quality minutes going 4 of 4 from the field while scoring eight points, grabbing five rebounds and blocking three shots.

Westfield forward Tyler Scanlon only scored two points but he led the team in assists with four including a beautiful dish inside to Diakite for a monster dunk in the second half. Scanlon also had four rebounds while adding a block.

"That's our guy," Stevens said about Scanlon. "You know at the end of the day he's one of the smartest players on the team. He knows how to make plays and he makes everything happen. He sacrifices a lot just to make sure everything works on the team.

The blowout came despite having Rivals 5-star V.J. King and Rivals 3-star De'Monte Buckingham on the bench due to injuries. King is expected to play on Saturday if all goes well. Team Takeover will face Boo Wiliams AAU on Saturday at 9:30 am.
