Vapreps Classic Varina 76 Green Run 62

Two-time defending champion Varina defeated Classic host Green Run 76-62. The Blue Devils led by as many as 19 in the 2nd quarter and held a comfortable lead throughout the game.

All five starters scored in double-figures for the Blue Devils who shot 51 pecent from the field including 10 of 21 from 3-point range.

Freshman Brian Mitchell led the shooting barrage with 21 points on 7 of 9 shooting including five 3-point shots.

Reigning State Player of the Year K.J Wyche added 16 points and seven assists. Freshman Kaleb Wyche added 12 points, seven rebounds, four steals and three assists.

Both Malachi Cosby (10 points, 10 rebpunds) and DaMari Carter 10 points, 11 rebounds) had double-doubles.

Green Run junior Kassidy Jackson led the Stallions with 20 points while adding three rebounds, three assists and two 3-pointers. Trey Miller added 16 points, four rebounds and two steals. Julius Hymon had 15 points and six assists.
