Hampton Univerity commit EJ Joyner scored 19 points, six rebounds and four assists to help Peninsula Catholic to a 60-47 win over the Lancaster Red Devils.
The Knights took a 11-2 lead after the 1st quarter as Lancaster started the game 1 of 11 from the field. Joynerscored from all over including a couple of treys and a breakaway dunk. A 3-pointer from Steph Curry range by Joyner gave Peninsula Catholic a 14-2 lead to open the 2nd quarter. He added a jumper in traffic to put Peninsula Catholic up 17-6 with 4:31 to go before halftime.
Four quick points to start the 3rd qurter for the Knights extended the margn to double digits 27-13. They led by double digits the rest of the game and they cleared the benches leading 60-41 late in the 4th quarter.
Jaylen Wynn added 17 points for Peninsula Catholic while 6-foot-10 Alsonso Easterling made his presense known underneah with six points, eight rebounds and a couple of blocks.
Lancaster was led by Troy Henderson with 19 points and three steals including three from downtown. Lamar Mattocks had 10 points and six rebounds.
