Catholic defeated Forest Park 56-51 Brayden Thorne led the Crusaders with 21 points on 8 of 12 shooting. Thorne had two buzzer beating shots to end both the 1st and 2nd quarter. An 8-0 run by Catholic to end the 1st half gave them a 26-20 at halftime.
The Crusaders would not relinquish the lead after the break. A second dunk by Alex Pissis and three more points extended the lead over Forest Park to 48-35 with six minutes remaining. Pissis had 12 points, eight boards and three blocks.
Ashton Walker garnered some MVP consideration with 14 points nine rebounds and three assists while draining two treys.
Forest Park ended the game on a 7-1 run but it was not enough to overcome the double-digit 4th quarter deficit. D.K Moore led the Bruins with 19 points. Football player Brandon Edozie had a double-double with 14 points and 18 rebounds (one from tying the Vapreps Classic record for rebounds).
