Below is the press release from Catholic High in Virginia Beach on the announcement of its new Head Football Coach, effective June 4, 2021

Please join us in congratulating Coach John Harlow on his recent promotion from Interim Head Coach to Head Coach of the Crusader’s varsity football team!

Coach Harlow has more than two decades of coaching experience. He has coached football and basketball at every level from youth through high school in California, North Carolina, and Virginia. He has served as Position Coach, Offensive Coordinator, JV Head Coach, Associate Head Coach, and Interim Head Coach. He brings in a unique blend of coaching experience and military leadership to run his football program.

A 1994 graduate of Marshall High School in Marshall, MO, Harlow played football ,basketball, and track. After High School he went on to play basketball at Missouri Valley College and Kemper Military. Before graduating from college, he joined the United States Navy and spent the next 21 years serving our country. Coach Harlow would eventually return to school and earn his associates degree in business administration from Excelsior College in 2018 and is currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree in Intelligence Studies.

Coach Harlow and his wife Stephanie have two children, daughter Taylor and son Zakery, currently the wide receivers coach for the Crusaders. In addition to coaching, Harlow currently works as a military instructor at Information Warfare Training Command (IWTC) Virginia Beach.
