Wave Basketball Club 16U finished first in their pool on Saturday and in the tournament on Sunday defeated Barton Heights 70-58 in the quarerfinals, BWSL 15U 67-61 in the semifinals and lost 77-55 to BWSL 16U in the finals. Demetrius Pollard (6-2, 2011, Cape Henry Collegiate) and Earl Norfleet (5-10, 2011, Booker T Washington) were the scoring leaders, averaging 14.5 and 14.3 points per game. Quinton Upshur (6-4, 2011, Booker T Washinton) and Marquis Barfield (5-9, 2010, Norview) made big contributions on the offensive and defensive end. Upshur averaged 9.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.2 blocks per game, while Barfield averaged 10.2 points, 4.2 assists, and 2.3 steals.
