In one of the most dramatic finishes of the season, Yorktown kicker Mehran Roshanaei drilled a 33 yd. FG as time expired to boot the Patriots over the Chargers 17-14 and pick up a bevy of power points. This is the second week in a row that Chantilly has lost a game in the last seconds, having succumbed to Herndon with seven seconds to go last week.
Yorktown scored first on a 23 yd. TD from Joe McBride to Parker Dean (10 catches for 91 yards). Chantilly tied it 7-7 before halftime on a 6 yd. TD by Marcus Trammell. Patriots went back up 14-7 midway through the third on a Jack Storrs 3 yd. run. Chantilly then tied it on a third and long when QB David Sydnor scrambled 18 yards for the score with nine minutes left in the game.
For the game, Yorktown had to overcome turnovers at the Chantilly 26, 20 and end zone (3:11, 4th). Chargers had one pass picked off by Patriots' Zane Killgo that he returned to the Chargers 14.
