Region D Schedules.

Technically the @Tazewell game should be home for Graham & Tazewell on visitor’s side since Tazewell was the home team last year. That’s my thought anyway.
I have mixed feelings about that. It's their stadium, they are being gracious to let the Graham folks use it and put more wear and tear on it. It could be Graham's home game, their people working the game, their announcers, wear the home jerseys. I'm up in the air about sitting on the home side for that game. I'm sure that will be a big bone of contention. Maybe Graham uses Princeton's stadium for that game? I'm not sure how to approach that. Concessions will be an issue too...It will be a pain for the Graham folks to get everybody to be willing to travel 30 minutes to work the games. If all was fair, Graham would have been built a stadium years and years ago, but Tazewell County is so cheap, they squeeze a nickel so hard that the Buffalo has to take a crap.

Region D Schedules.

Please Post here.

The 2025 Graham G-Men football schedule is as follows:

  • August 29th: At Bluefield
  • September 5th: At Galax
  • September 12th: vs. Union
  • September 26th: At Princeton
  • October 3rd: vs. Marion
  • October 10th: At Pulaski County
  • October 17th: vs. Virginia High
  • October 24th: vs. Lebanon
  • October 31st: At Tazewell
  • November 7th: At Richlands
The G-men may be playing all of their home games at nearby Tazewell. Therefore, if any of the home games overlap with a Tazewell Home game, Graham may be moved to a Thursday or a Saturday. Only 4 home games - 6 away - However the Bluefield game is basicallyl a home game.
Technically the @Tazewell game should be home game for Graham & Tazewell on visitor’s side since Tazewell was the home team last year. That’s my thought anyway.

Tazewell County Board of Supervisors screwing Graham football & Graham HS over for the foreseeable future.

John Marshall Boys Head Basketball Coach position open

Greater than any basketball trophy in the trophy case. Pride of the Northside! Congrats

PETERSBURG HIGH SCHOOL CRIMSON WAVE

It would suck for the kids who have come up through the system in Petersburg from a young age to all of a sudden be on teh bench or not on the team at all.
Yes I agree, but from inside the basketball Circle in the 804 and Hopewell, Petersburg area he's already got a couple of AAU kids maybe three or four for what I'm hearing. And this is coming from some players and coaches.

Top 3 predictions in each region

Wasn't G.City Devils in there also?
Yes, I believe they were.
This is what I believe to be correct way back when.

1970-1979: Abingdon, Gate City, Graham, Grundy, John Battle, Marion, Patrick Henry, Richlands, Tazewell, and Virginia High.

1980-1985: Abingdon, Gate City, Graham, Grundy, John Battle, Lebanon, Marion, Patrick Henry, Richlands, Tazewell, and Virginia High.

The district has undergone a lot of changes over the years since then.

Top Running Backs in The 2025 Football Season

804 and 757 media just posted their top 10 RBs for the State and it’s as follows,

1. Savion Hitter- Louisa
2. SirPaul Cheeks- Varina
3. Michael Farley- Varina
4. Lawrence Hewlett- Prince George
5. Tayshawn Branche- Maury
6. Daeron Ferguson- TeeJay
7. Tyjae Curtis- Oscar Smith
8. Amari Pryear- Bethal
9. Charles Jackson Jr- Green Run
10. Darren Williams- Varina

Varina has 3 of the top 10 backs on this list do you agree or disagree and who would you switch? Who’s missing? And should teams fear Varina with 4 good backs? That’s uncommon.
dont forget the receiver for louisa that lines up in the back field too. he can make moves. i mention him because he takes the pressure off hiter.

I watched those Dinwiddie vs. Varina games and yeah, the score says it was a two-touchdown game, but let’s look at it for what it was: that last-second touchdown was against Varina’s third-string players depends how you look at it. When you look at it from a real perspective, about 90% of Varina’s team is coming back plus more theirself, and they’re not just returning they’ve added some serious talent. Not just average players, but actual stars. So honestly, with everything considered, how does the outcome change this time around? Boisseau a great athlete I do believe he’s him but do I believe he’s the factor to beat this Varina team? I just don’t yes Dinwiddie was young but so was Varina it just don’t change anything, I do believe if we had to compare each category with both teams Varina winning all positions besides coaching . This doesn’t mean Dinwiddie or Louisa is not good but Varina, Huguenot and Phoebus are juggernauts that people aren’t ready for but Dinwiddie is the closest.
not getting huguenot will have to see but phoebus and varina is bad news for all of them. louisas qb started 2 years ago and did a good job for missing the big players that transfered so we will have to see. ummmm coach gotta stop letting his ego get him at the end of big games.

Demetrius Stewart Essex Class of 2028

When you put it this way, it keeps those folks wondering......
Again you know NOTHING, Westmoreland also go a kid from King George, the kid Essex got, his dad went to Essex and moved back into the area, Jones has had success at Essex since the early 2000's all homegrown talent, thats not an overnight program, whoever those folks are, they dont know football or just started following recently, so Wonder Woman, Wonder Bread, Wonder why youre making up allegations for no reason, fun fact though Overton and his staff did reach out to Stewart to try and get him to the St. James Academy, thats recruiting and that can be proven.

Demetrius Stewart Essex Class of 2028

Yes sir! Just wanted to reiterate cause people be accusing Todd of that recruiting bulljive. Lots of families see Rapp as the golden child school in the NN. I’d probably guesstimate that at least 15-20 kids in that building are Essex kids.
You are spot on with people sending their kids there in the NNK, I didnt realize it until i had spoke with someone in the area

Top Contenders in each region in 2A this upcoming season.

In my estimation, I would say that Central - Wise, Union, Graham and John Battle / V- High will be the best teams in 2D this season.

Graham lost their outstanding point Guard - Markel Ray and talented athlete, Blake Graham, who will both be hard to replace, they return most of their team that saw significant playing time and I would assume that Ty Martin will take over at the PG spot. They should be pretty solid again. They also have a couple of promising freshmen coming up, so they should be good for the next few years. I would think that Central will be the team to beat in the region. V-High may take a step back, they lost some good talent.

Top 3 predictions in each region

Yes. I was in school when the old SWD was Graham, Richlands, Tazewell, Lebanon, Abingdon, V-High, John Battle, Marion, Grundy and Patrick Henry. I think Carroll was added a little after my time and then left. But I do recall Marion having some very good basketball teams. They always seemed to have a "scrappy" football team that was really competitive, although they didn't make the playoffs a lot, you were in a dogfight when you played them because they were hard nosed and hard hitting. Of course, you were in a dogfight with the SWD teams every year because of the physical style of play.

Top 3 predictions in each region

No. Marion should finish at or near the bottom of the SWD again.
Gotcha I remember back when I was in elementary school (the old Region IV days), Marion used to be huge. Sent us home my freshman year in basketball. Man have times changed. Miss that old SWV District with Carroll, Graham, Tazewell, Marion, Grundy, Richlands. Used to be a lot of battles when they’d play the Piedmont District teams in the Region.

Demetrius Stewart Essex Class of 2028

i know what you meant Bo no issue, and yes its not spoke about as much but kids from Essex do go to Rapp for baseball/softball, but its neither here nor there, no one seems to complain about it much lol

KG has nobody that’s going to make a difference on Essex’s team. I know the young man and it’s been known since November. Don’t see it making a difference and that’s no disrespect to the young man. Todd Jones has a whole cast of young boys from Tapp Town. That young man will have a few guys ahead of him on the depth chart.

George Washington-Danville Prospect Review

This is the first of a series of articles on the top football prospects for schools in Virginia.

George Washington Danville Head Coach Nick Anderson led the Eagles to a 10-win season which included a playoff win. He will have several D1 prospect to rely on this year.

Seniors

Rising senior Christopher Law (6-foot-2, 275) is a standout 2-way lineman for the Eagles. He made VHSL 2nd team All-State for Offensive Lineman as a junior. However, it is on the defensive side of the football that he is attracting interest as a defensive tackle. Law has 13 offers including Liberty, Elon, Temple, Old Dominion, Hampton and Miami (Ohio). Law finished the 2024 season with 37 tackles including seven tackles for loss and two sacks.

Had them losing to Salem, GW and LCA/or Heritage. Didn’t realize that Heritage was going to be this good this year. Seen a few people say they’ll win the district.
I think Rustburg should beat them again this year. But we'll see what happens with Rustburg's new coach. Rustburg finished 7-4 last year with their only losses to LCA, JF, and Heritage 2x.
