That’s a hella of 8th seed to play my goodness. Will be a great matchup
I know the Blacksburg radio guy went to Chancellor. That was mountaineer mark on VA Preps. He was excellent and has done several VHSL Championships as an announcer. Not to be confused with the stadium announcer. That guy was trying to be part of the show, instead of just presenting the information.Didn’t the Blacksburg announcer go to Chancellor?
Oh I agree. Dinwiddie will have to stop KG’s offense too though. I think the biggest question mark is KG’s QB play which is why I asked that question in my last post. KG’s running game and WRs are legit as they come. May be the best collective skill group behind Huguenot.King George’s defense won’t be able to stop the Dinwiddie offense
Lunsford is the only coach in the whole region that has given Billy Mills a run for his money. Hasn’t been close with any other team. I think King George matches up really well against Dinwiddie. The biggest and most obvious difference is QB play. Koch has put up huge numbers but will it be enough in a scoring match with Dinwiddie?I watched Courtland at Eastern View last night. A sloppy game by both sides and the officiating was hot garbage on both sides.
Eastern View has an elusive quarterback who can throw it a mile. They also have some elusive running backs. Courtland can run the ball, and if they run lure King George to sleep and keep possession, then they will be able to keep next week's game close. Courtland actually cost themselves about 1:30 late in the game last night by passing incomplete on second and third down when they had the lead.
I watched King George against Spotsylvania last week and they have the athletes (again) to turn the lights out early. I actually think that winning the coin toss will be key in this one as Courtland will want to take the ball first to chew through the first quarter.
Spotsylvania did well with ball fakes. Some of the best I've ever seen them do. And that's one of the big reasons they were able to catch King George off guard and put up 42 last week against the Foxes.
I still see both Courtland and Eastern View with early first round exits with King George getting bounced in the second round by at least two scores at Dinwiddie.
Petersburg looks like all throwing and no running… that’s going to let the Lafayette defense blitz a lot, pressure or sack that QB, and just blanket the WRs or INT the passes. Which we have seen them do all season when teams try to throw.I’ve already posted on Lafayette’s FB page that Petersburg schedule results would appear to show their better than their record.
I’ve already posted on Lafayette’s FB page that Petersburg schedule results would appear to show their better than their record.Yeah, Tabb at Hopewell. Hopewell has been through so much adversity this year, death of a team mate player early in the year, four starters injured quarterback, running back and receive + tight end. But they still have alot of young talent and a soild defense. Should be a good game, Petersburg at Lafayette will be interesting Petersburg has speed and athleticism Lafayette Shouldn't take them lightly. I. C norcom and Heritage Norcom Shouldn't have a problem but this is the playoffs, AND New Kent at Colonial Heights should be interesting. Good luck teams.
56-10. I hit the 9 on my tiny keyboard by mistakeSo was it Graham 56-10 or 56-19?? I'm seeing two different results...
What’s up Ant! Yessir. Is the Class 4 championship back at Liberty?
🤷🏽♂️ would rather see those two teams make it. JF, Salem and GW will be more competitive with Phoebus.Wow , awful presumptive that both GW and Salem would be able to just run straight through Handley and Sherando and other teams to get to region final. Handley may very well struggle if the QB is not available , but still not a pushover . Sherando is a better team than most might think. 🤔
Is the Class 4 championship back at Liberty? It’s lame that Handley couldn’t finish the job yesterday. I hope Salem beats them 70-0 this week. The region needed a Salem/GW final. @Chuck Vipperman (GW) can we sign a petition to get Keshawn Waller a RB #. That young freshman is the next big thing out of Danville VA.

I put a large part of the "record wise" piece on conference realignment. Putting the majority of the top teams in 2 conferences and saying "have at it, boys!" was a terrible idea in the eyes of football purists. Oregon/OSU and Texas/UGA or Bama don't even sound right as conference games. BYU and SMU leading the Big 12 and ACC standings, respectively? Unserious football. There's a lot of bad football being played though. Yes, there is parity. But even the great teams (record wise) aren't even that great for the most part.
Also, the lack of effort and heart are now even more apparent than ever.
Bring Orange as well and that is a stout ten team district for the most part. Everyone would have to get better and would be better battle tested for the playoffs. All you have to do then is go out and schedule one crazy hard non-district game (preferably a Class 5 or 6 team) to help you get better.Shoot bring Louisa back to the Battlefield
