Is it possible Appo could get the 4 spot ?
Maybe the right question is 5th, just have to play on road, but all top 4 teams will be in top 5 seeds.
Is it possible Appo could get the 4 spot ?
Is your playoff predictions from last week still good? Looks like it should be.
[/QEverything is pretty well set in Region C. Only thing I can see realistically happening is Patrick and Martinsville swapping 7-8 around. Appo is pretty set in 5 with Dan River win. Nelson and Radford are done with regular season. Nelson I guess want be able to make Chatham game up so goes off nine games and pretty set to finish 6. Don't see Glenvar losing to Carroll. So Glenvar will host either Martinsville or Patrick and Radford will host the other. Nelson will be coming to Gretna and Appo to Floyd. Then in my opinion Gretna goes to Radford and Appo to Glenvar in second round. Is your playoff predictions from last week still good? Looks like it should be.
Only 6 make it from A this year, but still your point is made. You can take EV and give them to A, they're about as far away from a given A school as they are a given (traditional) D school. No need for A to stay with 11 teams and not share in travel burdens that other divisions, most especially D, are suffering through. 12, 14, 14, 13.
It is asinine how they're doing B and D, though. I guess A and C really want their participation trophies. 8 of 11 and 8 of 9 teams making the playoffs is a joke meanwhile in D and especially B it will be harder than ever to see an 11th game.
Not a bad plan... I support and endorse FWIW...I know that Billy Haun mentioned that he wants to focus on regional balance. Per the VHSL website, the regions for Class 4 are out of whack again for the final two years of the current four year cycle. The number of schools in each region under the current proposed plan for two years beginning in 2025 is:
Region A: 11
Region B: 18
Region C: 9
Region D: 15
This is what I would do since it appears that we don't have any monumental changes in terms of structure coming down the pipe in order to help even up the regions a little better. I keep a running total in parentheses as I go down my little list.
Move Eastern View, Caroline, Chancellor, Courtland, King George, and Spotsylvania from Region B to Region D. (This would give Region B 12 schools and Region D 21 schools.)
Move Handley, James Wood, Liberty (Bealeton), Millbrook, and Sherando from Region D to Region C. (This would give Region D 16 schools and Region C 14 schools.)
Move Charlottesville, Orange County from Region D to Region B. (This would give Region D 14 schools and give Region B 14 schools.)
There you go. This keeps district schools together (I think). And the regions are now as follows in size:
Region A: 11
Region B: 14
Region C: 14
Region D: 14
Here's some of my rationale.
I moved the Battlefield schools out west because for years, Halifax County, George Washington, and the larger Roanoke area schools had to come to Charlottesville, Albemarle County, and Stafford County for regional play. And vice versa of course. The drives really aren't that bad overall (King George and Caroline have a little extra hike but nothing not manageable when it comes to regional play).
And someone has to be paired with the western schools. This time around, I think the Battlefield schools should be the ones under the current system we have. The distances between the schools I just mentioned above are actually a little further than the Battlefield schools (except for maybe King George and Caroline which may be closer to what they were before).
The five schools I moved from Region D to Region C just makes sense because it keeps all of those schools together in Northern Virginia.
Also, moving Charlottesville and Orange County from Region D to Region B also allows them to join Louisa County in regional play at Louisa County drops back down to Class 4 next year. Plus, they all get the best of both worlds being affiliated with and playing both the Charlottesville and Richmond schools.
I don't think the Battlefield schools overall click with the Richmond area schools so that was another (yet smaller) reason why I moved them out west. And before anyone complains (because they take hypotheticals so personal), I didn't move your team because I had some type of vendetta against them. I've been a long time Battlefield guy and went to a Battlefield school so I thought this would be the best option under the current system we are in.
Barring some drastic realignment (such as what I have proposed on this board several times), I think these are probably the best compromises.
They may not want me to pick them based off my pick'em skills this year lol.Where you at @Shruikan ? Tell all these pickers on the pickem how they are picking the wrong team. Is Sherando going to roll into Winchester and beat the Judges this Saturday?
I have very little knowledge of the abilities of most of the teams in Region D. I am very familiar with two of the contenders in GW Danville and Salem. If GW can play mistake free football they surely have a chance. Especially playing at home. I understand many of the Salem fans being discouraged over the defense; however, their two losses have been to undefeated teams. @Pioneers02Champs, just curious. What exactly does JD bring to the table that will present a problem for Salem and the other contenders in Region D? Thanks in advance.I believe JF is the best team in the region and should win the region. They run the ball well and play really good defense. Now, whether they will win the region or not remains to be seen. They are two blown coverages away from being undefeated right now.

You did an awesome job. I try and do region b every week and by the end my eyes are going in circles. Thanks!I re-did the numbers - everything SHOULD be right now.
No arguments here on what initiated it, I can’t speak to what wasn’t seen.He definitely spit in the face of the player.
Thank you!Based on the VHSL helper info it is not possible. Maximum Appo number is 190 and min Floyd number is 198
Just an emotional game with a lot of history between the two, especially with last year in mind. A whole bunch of factors. It’s sad. The referees never controlled the game from the start , if anyone is at fault I blame them.
He definitely spit in the face of the player.#5’s helmet never came off in the live stream on the NFHS network, but I guess it could’ve came off before the major altercation.
#5’s helmet never came off in the live stream on the NFHS network, but I guess it could’ve came off before the major altercation. The Sussex player did throw the first punch. #5 from Brunswick removed his helmet and spit in the face of Sussex player resulting in the punch being throw, there is zero credibility that a coach made a statement like that at halftime. Brunswick from what I heard season may be suspended totally from the incident. Please be factual and stop trying save Brunswick season with lies.

Most is speculation at this point. Hope all turns out well for both teams, especially being in the same district.
