Shenandoah District Outlook

As many have already said, it is the big four this year. I think Fort, Staunton, and Draft return the most varsity talent from last season but:

1. Riverheads
2. Draft
3. Fort
4. Staunton
5. Wilson
6. Gap. They will be better then last year. More players and more depth. Tough district.
7. Waynesboro

Will not surprise me for any of the top 4 to win it. Wilson and Waynesboro QB's give them a shot to make some upsets also. Should be fun!

Region B

EV is KG's sole challenge in the regular season. I agree with @General172011, I don't think anyone has or is discounting the blue and gold. In 2022, they had a dual threat QB that was tough as nails and a ton of weapons. Last year they brought in another QB and he performed admirably with three (not two) nasty receivers. The QB and offensive line are the key. If they give the QB time he can pick you apart. Pressure him and he will make mistakes. I thought KG's defense was solid last year and to be honest the two big receivers might be missed the most on that side of the ball. KG will be a major player come November.

Freedom Woodbridge only playing 6 games this fall

@DinwiddieProud - not surprised this was the finding. It is obvious, if you are not willing to build a super team you will not be able to win class 5 or 6 championships. Class 4 is next, if we are not already there, it won't be long.

Region B

King George plays Brooke Point on Thursday night. Was talking to a coach from a Region B program and it’s insane to me that people are counting them out. Covid year they win Region B, the next year they take the states best team to triple OT in the region championship, the next year they win the region and gives Phoebus all they can handle this past year in Hampton. Yeah they lost the two studs but they also bring back 3 of the top 15 players in the whole region plus added the Carpenter kid from St. Michael’s/Herm. Carpenter and Chavion Johnson won’t be the two studs they had but they’ll give similar production and results.
I think most people have been silent on them because we really haven’t heard much about their off season to this point. I do think however, regardless of what they bring back, that they’ll go 9-1/10-0. It’ll be a different version of KG that we haven’t seen with this on having to rely on the run game and play action a bit more imo

The Real Attack

Football is no longer a sport. Whether we like it or not it's dangerous entertainment. I am one of the individuals who spoke out as pro Coach Prime and Colorado. I still stand by my response. He may never win a dang thing, but he is providing opportunities educationally/financially for himself, family, the University of Colorado, his coaching staff and the team. Hopefully, when it's all said and done the athletes playing for him will have a quality life outside of football.
I agree with you. I watched him play baseball live at War Memorial, (of all the baseball stadiums in the world) on Pembroke Avenue in Hampton, Va while sitting next to his family and you did not rate my joke. As a former freelance journalist I believe The Freedom of Press is a bigger joke than the 13th Amendment.
