Friday in Dinwiddie looks better than Thursday, but it’s still 30-40% chance of rain. But the temperature is more tolerable, a high of 85. My guess is 80 at KO. Darn lightning though is the bigger problem. What’s the standard. 20 minutes after any strikes within 20 miles?

Maybe not because as hot as it was today (Wednesday), it is supposed to cool down into the high 70s/low 80s by Friday. Also the chances for rain don't look as much as they did earlier in the week. Thursday and Saturday now look like the big rain days for the rest of the week.

The Harrisonburg paper reported today that Rocktown recorded its first-ever Varsity win earlier this week when their girls volleyball team traveled to Page County and swept the Lady Panthers in three sets. It has a very nice campus, one that we Riverheads folks will get to see up close and personal in a few weeks.

It may not stay under the rug but, the first attempt to sweep it under the rug has already been made with internal and external investigations that appear to have more holes than a block of Swiss cheese. The question is whether the first try stops things in their tracks or increases the resolve of people with means and power to actually get to the truth.

The young men in RED have really improved . They are still young so only time will tell how much they have matured. Should be a good contest VS Central Woodstock . Look for the the heat to be a factor in this one .

Private school playing in public division if I'm not mistaken. JM is Richmond city public school, but I guess 2 wrongs doesn't make it right.

I have to imagine this is a result of program culture and how the county draws up the district lines. Even though both schools have, say, 1200 students to draw from, that doesn't mean they have the same number of students who are interested in playing football.

A similar discrepancy exists between Sherando and James Wood, two Frederick County teams. James Wood has only beaten Sherando a few times over a 30 year period. Wood has gotten a couple wins lately though I would put that down more to Sherando declining than JW suddenly putting things together given the lack of success the Frederick County schools have had at the regional and state level in recent years. But despite that the two have had a ton of close games. Has EV dominated Culpeper on the scoreboard too or just in outright W/L?

If the investigation is over and they found “ZERO” wrongdoing, then the investigation is tainted. You mean to tell me that 15+ players and families all decided to up and move from the Freedom High School area, and all just happened to chose to live in the Hayfield High School area? I am not from the area so no direct ties to any of this. That being said, did the investigation really resolve anything or did it just create more? A few things to ask:
(1) What were the steps and results in the internal investigation? Why was an external investigation delayed until the completion of the internal review?
(2) What were the criteria used in selecting the outside firm to perform an external investigation?
(3)Who were the 19 witnesses interviewed? When and how were the home visits conducted? Given that allegations point to 15 or more kids, how many of the 19 witnesses were those kids and/or their parents/guardians?

Just a little food for thought. I am sure those closer to the situation will have more.
