Congrats to Maury! Lots and lots of dawgs on that team. I don’t see anyone in C5 beating them unless one of the 75 teams do, but I doubt it.

Sat beside two sets of parents last night who sons rode the bench for Dinwiddie. Listened to how much Dalton sucked and how much Mills couldn’t coach. Disgusting! Dinwiddie is going to be a tough out. Those were a bunch of country boys vs what will be top 30 nationally ranked team by the end of the year. Hats off to both teams/staffs for giving us a great game. Priv did his thing. Hell of a coach.

That's why parents are in the stands. If they actually knew what they were doing, they'd be on the sidelines coaching or up in the booth. Coach Mills' record speaks for itself. I love/loathe those fans and parents that show up Friday night acting as if they are Vince Lombardi reincarnated.
Maury is STACKED with talent. Those kids are ready for war each week and their staff is spectacular. The Generals punched them in the mouth in the first half. That's a GREAT test for them. They've now beaten 2 of the best teams in the state. C5 teams will have to play PERFECT football to knock them out of the playoffs.

Just knowing a fan believes or would say Dalton sucks and Mills can't coach shows their lack of knowledge of the game and narcissistic attitude. Shame, but every team has them. I will say this Dalton had an uncharacteristic difficult second half, but that credit goes to the relentless depth of Maury and the adjustments they made. No excuses, we were beaten by a better team.

When I used to sit in the stands, it used to make me chuckle when some Salem "fans" would yell stupid $hit at Coach Mags. I mean his teams won 5 championships in the 15 years he was there. I know people have a 1st ammendment right and they've bought a ticket, but it would be great if those "fans" could get escorted from the grounds. All teams have those "fans." I've visited many stadiums in the last 30+ and it never fails.

An uncharacteristic 2nd half is an understatement. We turned it over on 3 straight possessions 😞. We will be better tho we had them on the ropes just have to continue to swing & protect the football. Maury took advantage of every miscue like a good team does. We will be better just can’t allow this game to have us sleep walking into Hopewell.

There are close to 350 public schools in VA with varsity football programs. If those parents want to ship Dalton out of Dinwiddie, there are about 350 coaches who will find a place for him on the field this Friday and every Friday until their season ends. State title odds would go up drastically for EVERY team if they had Harry Dalton. EVERY team!!!

Same with HSHS, we were beaten by a better team. Maury is stacked this year. I've heard rumors that they did a lot of recruiting, but who knows for sure? I don't! We'll see if they can sustain this kind of dominance for several years and maybe win 4 or 5 in a row...

Phoebus has a pretty clear path to the Semifinals, but Reg B has a couple of other teams standing in Dinwiddie's way- primarily King George and Varina.
I would lookout for Hugenot as well… I know they are inexperienced but they have some talented kids

KG has the inside track to the #1 seed
Dinwiddie & Varina still have tough games on the schedule.
The question I have is does a 9-1 EV out point an 8-2 Dinwiddie or 8-2 Varina.

As far as that goes, Dinwiddie certainly doesn’t have locks on just 2 losses. Thomas Dale and Hopewell are going to be tough games. And depending on which Matoaca team shows up, they can be a challenge too.

I think the Central District should pass a rule saying that anyone with the last name Henderson or Tyree is not allowed to play!o_O

EV out of conference games is very bad … I think 8-2 would with the teams they lost too would get them enough rider points

My apologizes from the Dinwiddie community. That is embarrassing and shameful, and not who we are or what we stand for.
I used to live in Petersburg when Moses Malone was still in high school. I was left with the impression that someone stood for stifling poverty and an hugely inadequate infrastructure. I didn’t know just how poverty stricken my grandparents were until I moved to Europe and saw my first extremely massive, ancient and gold embossed Catholic cathedral. I remember the flood waters that used to rage down Old Church Street and the bugs in the pancake mix. It would not matter if those parents stood behind their coach 100% or if Phoebus Fan didn’t leave a post on virginiapreps.com saying that Maury would win by 17 points. Even when you are right you are wrong and if you are wrong someone is gonna come along and tell hero stories. It is going to take the most quietly perfect D5 season ever to stop Maury. Sort of like when the Gar-Field Indians beat the Hampton Crabbers with that stifling defense; 13-12.

Some parents are extreme and miss what “team” really means.
Some parents don’t know they don’t know. Seen them all over state of Tennessee and also Virginia. Believe me they are everywhere. Everywhere from rec league/little leagues on Saturday, to JV/middle schools mid week, Varsity on Friday, college on Saturday, and NFL on Sunday, Monday, or Thursday. Just ignore their lack of knowledge. My favorite response to these people is this- “Are you sitting in on coaching meetings and planning, watch countless hours of film, planning practice, conducting practice, and doing all the little things. If answer no, my answer is keep your damn mouth shut.” But these parents believe what they read or the supposed them said is the gospel. Only problem no one can tell you who them is. 😂😂

I think we are overlooking Warhill. I know they don’t have the brand name but they have looked good this year. Oscar Smith got blasted last night again. Phoebus is obviously the front runner but Warhill might have something to say

Agree, I watched Hopewell against lake Taylor last week won 42-25 and Churchland last night won 42-0 and they are fast and athletic, Henderson is playing like the 4 star recruit everyone though he was and the quarterback is really good can run and pass. Should be a very good game next week. Hopewell needs to cut down on penalties and continue to be aggressive on both sides of the ball.

Same thing applies to penalties. It’s amazing how much better someone can see an infraction from 100 yards at an oblique angle than official 10 feet from the action.

And, how often have you all heard some irate fan screaming about a penalty, when it’s not applicable to high school football?

Bleeding Navy said Hopewell essentially has a “three headed monster” on offense.

Cam hunt number 7 is a beast also at running back for Hopewell, but him and Henderson might be better defensive players believe it or not.

Yep I bet Dalton sucks and their sons are all Americans on that bench that that sorry Coach Mills won’t play. Gotta love parents.

Lake Taylor and Churchland aren’t good measuring sticks honestly. Dinwiddie is a lot better than both teams and an angry Dinwiddie team is on another level than those two. Give me Dinwiddie like 42-14

You could say the same about Phoebus too!
The PD is a lot better than the Battlefield district (i believe that’s King George’s district)…but still Phoebus should be able to take a couple of these teams off their schedule and put some bigger schools buuuuut we can’t.

While no one wants to overlook any opponent, 2023 Warhill is a threat to be put on a running clock. They do not have a history of knocking off any powerhouses. The victories Warhill has this year are wins they should have. The last time Warhill played Phoebus it wasn't pretty: 41-7. This year the 1st place Bay Rivers team, Tabb, gave up 19 points to a 1-3 Heritage Hurricanes team. You do know that Phoebus put a running clock on the Canes? If they advance and Warhill has to play top D4 teams in playoffs they are going to up against aggression and speed that will completely overwhelm them. Between now and Oct 27 Warhill can be undefeated when they face Tabb but the winner of that game will need to demonstrate some serious defensive dominance to stay off the running clock with Dinwiddie, Salem, King George or Phoebus. They cannot play each other even and be considered a serious threat. Today Warhill is 5 points better than Tabb. That equals being put on a running clock against top tier teams.

They did beat Matoaca on the road handily which Surprised me. Motoaca is a quality team here in the 804. Historically, I would agree with you but they have raised my eyebrows a bit thus far. I think we are getting too quick with the trigger of the running clock stuff on the board. You have a lot of “if’s” in your above scenario. Last year was last year. Truth is though, I have no idea but I think they might go undefeated a beat Lafayette and Tabb. It is also possible they are better than you think. Time will tell

Warhill has a very good QB…lowkey one of the best in the state. I remember him from rec ball but he won’t have time to do anything against a team like Phoebus

Dinwiddie beat two teams that are 0-3 Gw and north Stafford 0-3 but that doesn't take away from there talent or how good they are.
