Looks like the Neck and Middle Peninsula area may boast some strong QB talent (and KW has a top RB).

1) Northumberland's QB Delvin Palmer had 6 TDs against Surry (3 passing, 3 running)

2) King William's RB Marc Gesham had 5 TDs in a losing effort at 2A Prince Edward.

3) Rapahannock's young QB K.J. Gaines accounted for 302 yards and 4 TDs at 2A Nandua.

4) W&L QB Carson Bell had 17 completions for 220 yard with 4 TDs (2 pass, 2 run)

5) Middlesex QB Logan Bell had 16 completions for 200 yards and a run TD.

6) Middlesex's Jack Ruark made 3 field goals and two extra points v W&L.

Please fix any errors.

A thread highlighting the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula star athletes and Essex is not mentioned? This should be an exciting season in Tidewater.

Trust me... the stars are there. They just didn't have a good game against a good team. A much stronger team than the other NND teams played last week. Even Sussex stars didn't post big numbers in the game with Essex.

I think he was just sharing some of the top performances from last week, not necessarily all of the star athletes in the region.

Agreed EssexTrojan1. Essex has their stars that will emerge. The Trojans definitely played the toughest competition probably in 1A last week with Sussex in what was a defensive battle ultimately decided by turnovers.

I would guess that some of the top Essex stars are K.J. Dameron, Tim Johnson, and Terrell Hundley (maybe Tamaje Jones). Some big boys on the line like AJ Crabbe at over 400 pounds.

Also, ET1, a couple days ago the Richmond T-D had a college football preview of Virginia Union. It mentioned former Essex great Sterling Hammond twice as one of, if not the, defensive leaders in the conference. Folks said that Hammond hit like a flying tank back in high school, sounds like he still does!

I didn't see the article in the Richmond Times about Sterling. I'll be sure to search for it. Back in July, he and a teammate were named to the Pre-Season All-CIAA team.

Sounds like the Essex stars emerged v Franklin!
