I know the community is just over the top proud of their kids. The memories of our first and only championship are still fresh. I will be something that everyone remembers with great joy for the rest of their lives.

yall hung for a while though! We had too many weapons this year. kids were coming on at the end of season that were non existent invthe beginning. I feels great. community is still on a high. it was great meeting ya.

On our way home from the state game at LU, my wife and I stopped at the Bedford Arby's on 460. A couple about my age - in other words, "older" - came in while we were waiting. They saw my Salem cap, and struck up a conversation. They were Appomattox fans who'd just been to their state game at Salem Stadium. They were both extremely nice, and of course quite excited at the time.

Congrats to a community that's seen more than its fair share of hard times recently. A state championship in a high school sport can't begin to make up for all of that, but it sure is nice when Fate throws you that bone. Kind of pulls everyone together, and provides a very welcome diversion for a while. Enjoy! Still kind of hard to believe Appo hadn't won it prior to last year.

this football team pulled this community together during them tough times. When the tornado hit the county. Coach Smith was one of the first to get the team up to serve the community in clean up. Fate was definitely in our favor.

Fate, shmate. Your guys kicked our guys butts last year. It wasn't fate. You were the better team, don't talk it down! It would be sweet, though, if our guys could return the favor this season!
